WILL ADAM DUNN CATCH MIGUEL CABRERA AND JOSH HAMILTON FOR THE MOST HOME RUNS THIS YEAR?

Current Home Run Standings:

1. Josh Hamilton 43

2. Miguel Cabrera 42

3. Edwin Encarnacion 42

4. Ryan Braun 41

5. Adam Dunn 41

As Miguel Cabrera fights for the triple crown and the division, Adam Dunn is in a position to disrupt his ability to accomplish both of those feats. Sitting at only one home run behind Miguel Cabrera and only two behind Josh Hamilton, Adam Dunn is in contention of hitting the most home runs in the MLB after only hitting 11 last season.

Comment below on who you think will hit the most home runs this year.

How about contributing to threads more instead of continually posting polls all day.

I'm sorry but this is getting a bit ridiculous. Anyone who posts on this site is just criticized. Not just me, but scroll through the threads and all people do is argue. You'd think some one would be allowed to post some articles and some polls on a forum website. It's not like my posts are only polls and no other content. I write things as well and try to start discussions. I mean isn't that the point of this site? Last year I reviewed your posting regulations and saw that you were allowed to link to other sites, but after linking to my White Sox blog, a different admin spoke to me with a friendly attitude and told me otherwise. I had not intended to break one of the regulations of this site and was sorry even though it hadn't been clearly stated in the rules and regulations.

For awhile I was discouraged to go back on here, because some other members had made profane comments to me in the thread just because I had linked to my own site. Recently, I came back because I wanted to start discussions and share my opinions with other White Sox fans in a nice setting. Once again, more unconstructive comments by someone who is supposed to regulate the site to prevent unnecessary criticism between users.

You don't participate in any discussion that you didn't start. When you join a site with the idea of increasing your own audience, I guess it breaches some sort of netiquette.

Here's the thing, I wouldn't care if someone linked to their own blog and I also don't understand why others would care. The reason I don't comment in other discussions is for this reason, everyone starts arguing with each other and everyone walks on eggshells with every post they make. I mean I could understand such treatment if I were on this site as a Cubs fan, but we're all White Sox fans, why can't we just openly share ideas and thoughts? Also, what's wrong with polls? If Admins are so concerned about polls then they should just remove the feature. People have participated in my polls and they're a good indication of how people feel about certain topics. No one should have a problem with that.

There are plenty of longtime posters that promote their own sites, side projects and blogs on this site. Have you seen multiple posters with Flapship.com in their sig? Statestsports started here as a poster named Jimbos drinker. We dont have a problem with that. What we do have a problem with is people who show up, register and immediately link their own blog as a way to drive up their own site traffic. Thats bulls***. If you want to participate in discussion and be a member of the site, we are all about that. But you and Soxnews(if that is another person or just an alternate name of yours) look like you are just setting up to start linking to your blog. Thats why other members as well as mods and admins are calling it out.

Dont play the "you guys discourage discussion" card around here either, thats a copout. If you participated in threads like others do you would see there is plenty of discussion, some of it leads to arguments of course but there is some damn good members on this site that provide some damn good insight and thoughts on many different topics, so dont act like you are reinventing the wheel by coming up with a poll and a paragraph to start a discussion. Other people do it too.

Being in the internet business since 99, I get a kick out of these guys who wake up and finally realize they too can start a blog and put adsense around their junk posts hoping to make $$$. This is what we did back in 2003 when spamming Google was working so well for many of us.

Now the game is to put up a crappy White Sox blog and link back to their site from SoxTalk, WSI, etc and hope to make some revenue from adsense clicks. Problem is you're beginning to realize that 1.49 a day isn't going to cut it, even while living in your parents basement.

I'm sorry but I'm all for laying it on you for this one WhiteSoxNews, you deserve it. Add value and you will be embraced here. Self promote and you'll be crucified. Deal with it.

I haven't even self-promoted my own site since I've returned and that isn't even my plan. When I did self-promote it, I certainly wasn't intending to make money from it. I didn't have adsense set up, I was just wanting some people to read some of the articles I had spent a long time writing.

Yes, I understand the whole don't self-promote concept, which is why I haven't self-promoted since I returned. But if other people set up polls and start discussions then why isn't an admin scolding them. I've been on the site for about two days, I haven't really had time to comment yet. Also why would you think Soxnews is going to start self-promoting, he's written one article and didn't link to anything.

What do you mean you haven't had time to comment? You have time to set up 4 different threads but no time to actually participate in the threads?

I just wrote those quickly and checked up on them. I haven't really read any other articles yet, but once I do I will probably comment on them.

Exactly how many posts do you have in threads started by others??? Contributing to a message board isn't just starting a bunch of threads with polls. It's contributing to discussions started by others.
