White Sox vs Braves 7:10 PM

Andy, I beg to differ. Because of what Robin did tonight, he has won me over as a fan. I now am in Ventura's corner through thick and thin. It takes a lot of guts to pull a player like Rios after he dogs it and hurts the team greatly. Scouts are not dumb. They know Rios loafed. What the hell is Robin supposed to do? He is a leader. Arguably his best player slapped Robin in the face by not hustling. Had he hustled, Sox woulda been leading 3-2. It's Robin's job to win games. KUDOS TO ROBIN. This is one fan who now respects Robin Ventura a lot more than before the game. I now realize Robin has a total clue of what he's doing as a LEADER.

Thanks for the laugh. Awesome.

A lot of players dog it down the line, but that was way too blatant to let slide.

Yep, he cost Sox a run.

The way things are going, he'll leave Peavy in after dominating for 100 pitches and he'll hurt himself

That's a very RV thing to do.

Rios is screwing us over

The thing is, he's been doing this for 2 months. Ventura has no one to blame but himself for this crap still going on. A message should have been sent a long time ago.

Agreed. I hate Ventura more than anything but any outrage here is dumb.

Although I do agree with fathom that it could and should have happened before this.

Ventura will probably leave him in for 120 pitches and one inning too long.

I'm starting to think Ventura might just be a dumb person.

He's a smart guy, just not sure if he views things from the proper perspective that a manager needs to.

I'm mad at both of them

He picked a helluva time to make a point.

Great managing.

So let me get this straight, the scouts in attendance didn't see him loaf, and had he remained in the game, the one AB he missed would have been so spectacular teams that really had little imterest would have started offering Hahn his choice of their prospects for Alex's services.

And Rios a lazy rich guy?

I mean, what the hell is Rios doing?? Maybe he really does want to be a White Sox forever and brilliantly deduced nobody would want him if he dogged it down the line. I mean isn't Rios paid to help the team win games? Sox would have grabbed the lead had he run hard. I mean is it too hard to run hard when you are paid that kind of money? Somebody do the math and tell me how much Rios was played to play tonight's game. How much is he paid per game?

Anyone complaining about Rios being pulled who ever complains about accountability ever again is totally full of s***. This isn't just about Rios, it sends a message to the other 24 players.

Why would you quote me when your post has nothing to do with mine?

Anyway. I used to think Robin was just kind of quiet and pragmatic. Now he starting to remind me of Bruce Weber.

Who knows what other conversations and consequences have gone on behind closed doors that led to this.

Viciedo was sat down for some curious play. To not sit Rios when it was so blatant, in a tie game, I don't think Ventura even had a choice.

You know what would be funny? People are calling Ventura "dumb." What if Rios is actually so clueless he figured he was being traded so he hugged everybody? What if Robin just told somebody to go in for him and didn't yell at him for loafing? Could Rios be that dumb he thought he got dealt, hence the hugs??

Sort of like, "Oh. He took me out. I must have gotten traded. A lot of teams need gamers like me, Alex Rios."

Rios repeatedly has said he wants to stay in Chicago. Loafing to first tonight was his way of spiking any deal that might have been in the works. He also has a partial no trade clause for about 6 teams. Angered RV but probably kept him in Chicago.

Yeah that's what happened. Rios is probably heading to the airport. Jokes on him, there's no ticket.

:lolhitting

PS, Cell looked absolutely packed on TV tonight, any specific reason?

Watch the interview of Robin's postgame with the media. He said "he knows," several times referring to Rios. It was indeed a no brainer. I would think a team would have to be crazy to take Alex Rios off the White Sox hands after this. He showed how much he cares about winning tonight. Proof is in what he did.

Just came from the game. 3 reasons

1. First game back post break

2. Fireworks night

3. Lots of Braves fans

Ventura confirmed, Rios benched for not hustling.

Wow then Konerko would never finish a game the way he runs to first base.

Let me rephrase that. Rios was benched for dogging it.
