I think having Alexei and Viciedo on the team had a lot to do with getting him.

Hopefully, he turns out to be as good, if not better, than Cespedes and Puig.

It's been a few years, but Those also started with Contreras... we're not the worst place for Cuban players, for sure.

If you PM me I'll put you on the nugget list. I try to keep stuff off the board to protect some info.

Sign Pierzynski to mentor Phegley

I don't think they had anything to do with it. All $$$

Probably not, but I'd have to think having two Cubans on the team certainly didn't hurt us.

We can bring back some former players this offseason. Cotts, AJ, Crain, and the amazing Brent Lillibridge.

For the naysayers: would you rather pay this money to Granderson or Abreu? Think of the next several years.

If Abreu can be a 4 WAR player, which is no small task, it has a chance to add 7 wins. Dunn hurt the Sox at 1B and Konerko was obviously brutal.

Granderson can go somewhere else!

Don't think there's many if any naysayers on this.

Abreu easily. Not even close. And I sent you a DM

This was actually what I was going to post almost verbatim. I agree 100%.

Great payback for watching awful baseball this season. Now we need more better baseball players.

I doubt Grandy would get this kind of money, or this many years.

I like Granderson, and the problem with Abreu is that he is a total unknown at the MLB level.

Watch. It will be close.

Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some.

It would not surprise me to see granderson get something like 5/55.

Grandy will also likely get a qualifying offer which would cost the Sox a draft pick for signing him.

If granderson gets close to this it will be a desperate move by somebody

Love getting info

What a great start to the "offseason". Or should I say best part of 2013 season. Anyone with a full scouting report?

Fathom begging?

It has been a really tough five months for everyone.

Did you get my DM or no

Pretty sure this is also the biggest deal in Sox history too.

Rock, I'll have a DM you'll laugh at here soon.

Nice hit me up.

Very true. I would def. rather have the second round pick and Abreu than Grandy.

Right now the wish list is down to Salty, maybe a trade for some infield depth, and a bonafide lefty in the pen. That puts the Sox on the road to legitimacy.
