It's been 8 years...

Featured Replies

Just looked at my phone and realized it was October 26th, making this the 8 year anniversary of your Chicago White Sox becoming world champions.

Hopefully Rick gets us back there soon but for now let's relive 2005, post videos, favorite moments, talk about the Rally Crede and how awesome Joe's hair was, I miss those days...

Where has the time gone?

I remember going to high school the next day being the smuggest motherf***er in the world.

Great plays by Uribe on the last 2 outs. That was so much fun. Wow.

Wait.. we won in 05?

I never get tired if watching that. I remember my ex girlfriend bought me the entire 2005 World Series on DVD a few years after. That was the best birthday gift I've ever had.

Wow. Ozzie was only 41 when the White Sox won it?

Yep, same. I still have my shirt that I made after Pod's walk-off HR. And after they won it all, I printed and cut out a bunch of Astros logos and dropped them in front of my friend's locker who was a Houston fan, and then I pulled out a broom I brought to school and said "Oh sorry, let me sweep this up for you."

We aren't friends anymore.

8 years later, can you name the postseason roster on the 2005 team?

This was actually a question on Stump the Schwab on one of the first episodes.

I am gonna stagger a try.

Jose Contreras

Mark Buehrle

Jon Garland

Freddy Garcia

El Duque

Luis Vizcaino

Dustin Hermanson

Damaso Marte

Cliff Politte

Neal Cotts

Bobby Jenks

Scott Podsednik

Tagahito Iguchi

Jermaine Dye

Paul Konerko

Carl Everett

Aj Pierzynski

Aaron Rowand

Joe Crede

Juan Uribe

Chris Widger

Geoff Blum

Willie Harris

Timo Perez

That's 24. Who am I missing??? Ross Gload? Brandon McCarthy??

I still say that 2005 team could have beat anybody else's team from the last 8 years. They played so well.. and "together". Great team to watch and glad I got to be a part of it as a fan.

Scored winning run in Game 2 vs Angels

Wow. I forgot Damaso and Blum. BLUM! I'm most disappointed that I forgot Blum. Damaso wasn't as important to that team as he was to other Sox teams, so I can see why I forgot him. Jeez, I suck. I just watched that home run yesterday on youtube.

Indeed, time really flies.... hard to believe.

Damn shame I still can't spell Pierzynski without looking it up.

That quiz took me like 30 seconds. All those names are engraved in my mind forever.

Me too. I can name the other 13 players from the regular season pretty easily too.

I suppose I'll just copy and paste what I've already put on Facebook.....

Happy 8 year anniversary to the greatest baseball team the city has Chicago has seen in very long time, certainly in my lifetime. I can vividly remember being at BW3s with my family watching the WS clincher as the ball bounced over the head of Jenks, and Uribe corralled it and fired across his body to record the final out and return glory to the city. Possibly the greatest playoff team in postseason history, anchored by one of the greatest playoff rotations. Here's to the legends of yesteryear and the future heroes of today. Happy 8 years, '05 Chicago White Sox. Don't stop believin'.

I wish we had kept Uribe. He is a winner

I can't believe I forgot about Marte and Vizcaino. I knew there was another lefty in the pen and I just couldn't get the name.

I was in 7th grade when we won so give me a break lol
