Yet there has only been 1 other Matt Davidson to ever play pro baseball, and he never made it out of the Cubs Rookie ball program.

In a perfect world, it would have been nice to have Reed along with the other young guys. But he trade should be good for both teams.

Yes, those name combinations in general are rare. Most are. Tell me how many Johnson's, Anderson's, Sanchez's, and Abreu's have played.

 

They are very generic names. They're not quite Rowand, Pierzynski, Konerko, or Crede. It's ok, just hope they're good.

Someone posted earlier that he thinks Davidson will start season at Charlotte. I can't see it, unless Davidson is really horrible in ST. I really liked Reed, but I bet he is glad to get away from Giambi.

Interesting article on Papelbon's decline - this is why I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox continue to make trades like this.
