If Webb isn't used in the 7th or 8th he needs to be closing.

The problem is you need to let him grow into the role naturally...it's a progression.

Forcing Webb there right now probably isn't the right move yet. They'll try Cleto or Belisario first. I would go with Cleto, simply because there's nothing to lose. He fails over a two week period, then you've bought Webb some more time.

Of course. Horrible defense gets the White Sox into a hole again.

Demoralizing.

This bullpen is absolutely unbelievable, outside of maybe Webb and Cleto.

ERA is approaching 9.00 for the SEASON, for the pen.

Sox are really building up Lindstrom's trade value by putting him in as closer. Brilliant.

I think we all knew he'd blow it

fLOLwers. Lindstrom jeezus

f*** Matt

This bullpen is such hot garbage

Nah, give me a break. Webb's a stud. Outs are outs, and he knows how to get them.

Another reason PK is a total waste of roster spot is he gives you no flexibility with late inning defensive replacements.

Why does this happen to the Sox year after year?

@DanHayesCSN: Last time Marcus Semien hit a go-ahead HR in the 8th, Matt Lindstrom blew a save that day too. #WhiteSox lost 10-9 to Twins.

Feel bad for Marcus guy can't catch a f***ing break to be a hero both of his HR's in the 8th have been s*** on by Lindstrom.

Or Gillaspie.

There aren't many good options. That forces Leury Garcia into the line-up, but you'd probably rather do that than take Abreu out of the line-up.

That would put three guys out of their best defensive positions (Semien 2nd, Gillapsie 3rd, Garcia SS).

Quiet PLZ

This has to Lindstroms last chance as closer he sucks. I know we had that error and flowers couldn't block the pitch

I don't buy any of this.

Errors and walks have just killed the Sox all year.

They're going to have to start using Konerko as a defensive replacement for Abreu with late leads, just like they do with Danks for Viciedo.

Paulie was possibly the worst defensive first baseman in the majors the last few years

It wasn't Reed last year blowing a ton of games.

He was around the low 80's (%) in save conversions.

Lindstrom hasn't even come close to getting a single save. The problem is that this kind of pattern sets in (like it did starting out recent seasons with Thornton or Santiago), it's hard to get the confidence of the team back...when they just start expecting the bullpen will blow almost every single lead the offense fights for.

Do we have the worst closer in the league? Jesus, he doesn't have great stuff and not closer material

Yes, but he always makes the routine plays and the scoops in the dirt.

No range, sure...but he would have made the plays that Abreu has messed up.
