2nd best available prospect coming into the day. 97 on his fastball. Already had Tommy John. Guessing we don't sign him but won't hurt to try.

Him having TJ his junior year is definitely a negotiating tactic for the Sox. What other team can keep pitchers healthy and help supplement their fastball better than the Sox? I'm not expecting him to sign but the Sox have a better chance than most if the kids at least considering going pro.

 

Hopefully we have money left in the pool to exceed $100,000 by a fair amount.

The Sox/Mizzou fan in me wants this to play the same way as the last time we drafted a Mizzou commit - Sox get him.

Heard from someone in the know that the the Sox likely would have taken Alex Jackson (similar to what Bucket was saying draft night) if Rodon was gone . Some Sox people think he'll put up better career numbers than Bryce Harper.
