Drop dead downs

They have got to release Downs soon. I really wish they trusted Putnam more.

That's on Downs.

He shouldn't be on the plane to Toronto.

What did Putnam do wrong besides getting two fly outs?

Putnam got his out s, hector was pulled late and downs sucks

Feels like the Dodgers series all over again.

Poor Hector.

As much as we've downplayed the need for a closer and how easily replaceable they are, it hasn't proven to be the case this year.

That said, we didn't foresee losing Jones and Lindstrom, either.

If they truly believe in Belisario, why not bring him in for a 4 out save?

You do realise Putnam faced 2 hitters and got them both out?

Throw right handed

Robin the Idiot once again mismanaging an already bad bullpen.

We need a LH reliever but downs is so ineffective what's the point?

No reason to blame Putnam.

Downs was bad in spring training -- and has only gotten worse.

Contract is the only reason he's still around.

Leesman could not be worse.

The fact that we're using Javy Guerra in the 8th inning of a tie game in Baltimore at midseason is just as telling as using Maikel Cleto in high leverage situations earlier in the year.

Correction, bases loaded 4-0 high leverage situation...then tie.

I must have read it wrong then, sorry! Downs and to a lesser degree Guerra. Clearly I can't multitask.

I think it's easy to second guess a manager here just because it didn't work out. Javy had no business falling behind Cruz and then throwing a fastball like that to him.

I'm not too happy about it either.

I wish we had a lefty specialist who I don't know... GOT OUT LEFTIES!!! Great concept actually..

Also why did he take out Putnam anyways for Downs? It's not like lefties are killing Putnam right now. And Davis just got a hit off of Downs the night before

And that's no longer as compelling, as Hahn was willing to pull the trigger on the Keppinger mistake quickly.

They have to pay him $250,000 for next year's buyout, but the bullpen is destroying the morale of this team.

Doesn't Downs' option vest soon? If so, we need to DFA him ASAP, as paying him $4M to pitch for us on 2015 would be an epic fail.

That slider Downs through was garbage, he's out in front of everything and looking inside, you can get him on the outside part of the plate with the fastball right there, even though under other circumstances Davis can hit that pitch out. Flowers is s*** behind the plate calling pitches. I mean Weeds, sorry.

2-0 to Nelson Cruz, one of the BEST HITTERS IN THE DAMN WORLD right now. You KNOW he can easily hit a grand slam in a hitter's count. So when you already miss with the first two, DON'T GIVE HIM ANYTHING GOOD TO HIT! Is it that f***ing hard??!! I would've preferred pitches close to the zone, and if he walks, then great, only one run, get the next guy.

Guerra actually has had experience closing in the major leagues, I don't think the situations are comparable at all
