2-0 to Nelson Cruz, one of the BEST HITTERS IN THE DAMN WORLD right now. You KNOW he can easily hit a grand slam in a hitter's count. So when you already miss with the first two, DON'T GIVE HIM ANYTHING GOOD TO HIT! Is it that hard? I would've preferred pitches close to the zone, and if he walks, then great, only one run, get the next guy.

The fact that we're using Javy Guerra in the 8th inning of a tie game in Baltimore at midseason is just as telling as using Maikel Cleto in high leverage situations earlier in the year.

 

Correction, bases loaded 4-0 high leverage situation...then tie.

Guerra has a history of being a pretty decent reliever. His peripherals this year are ok, nothing great, but nowhere near as bad as Cleto's were.

Thing is, I have no clue what Hahn can do to fix this bullpen. The Charlotte bullpen is as bad as you will see. I wonder if they would consider Surkamp or Heath in the pen?
