He doesn't have be on the 25-man roster to do that.

MLB.com's prospect ratings had this to say about his D...

 

Sanchez stands out more on defense, starting with some of the best hands in the Minor Leagues. He has solid arm strength, and his range fits best at second base, where he has been touted as a potential Gold Glover.

 

All the while grading him 55 on their scouting grade scale....So there's some mixed thoughts there.

I honestly can't wait for the game. I hope Sanchez starts.

Gordon Beckham is emblematic of what was wrong with the Sox offense for the last 4 seasons.

 

Tonight is a big deal. Will watch for sure.

Im sure you will get over his overrated defense and bad offense at some point. Probably when his replacement does better than him

Rick Hahn mentioned specifically that Gordon Beckham's run prevention on defense was part of the reason he never got demoted to the minors as he struggled over the years.

Sanchez went 0-5 in CLE earlier this year. Hope he does well

meh, if he goes 3 for 5 tonight with a double and a home run and a walk, his small sample size will look great.

Looking forward to the next month should be fun to watch some of the youngsters and Eaton will be back late next week as well.

For real, if Sanchez's offensive game translates the lineup should be a ton of fun to watch. (Maybe not against LHP though)

Hawk said GB biggest problem after rookie year was he overanalyzed everything.
