November 5, 201411 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 02:52 PM) Anyone think Castro can be on the move? More specific, to us? That wouldn't suck. He hits RHP.
November 5, 201411 yr Pretty hilarious...Astros fan on mlbtraderumors saying it would cost Jose Abreu or Chris Sale because " there's nobody on that team anybody wants"
November 5, 201411 yr Author Castro didn't really have a good year last year but I can see a Castro for Viciedo swap easily. Maybe other pieces added in from the Astros or not.
November 5, 201411 yr Jason Castro .222/.286/.366 151 strikeouts in 512 PA Tyler Flowers .241/.297/.396 159 strikeouts in 442 PA If it's an upgrade, it's pretty slight. OTOH if it would take Sale or Abreu to get Castro, what could the Sox get for Flowers? Edited November 5, 201411 yr by Dick Allen

You see a lot of morons, as opposed to meatheads, come out of the wood work. Yes, the White Sox would trade Jose Abreu for Jason f***ing Castro.

November 5, 201411 yr Castro was actually outhit by Flowers last year. They even had a similar number of Ks. Why in the world would the Sox want this guy.

November 5, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) I would be okay with Castro but I'm not giving up a ton for him. What about for Viciedo? Maybe we get something back like a BP arm as well.
November 5, 201411 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) What about for Viciedo? Maybe we get something back like a BP arm as well. Viciedo wouldn't net Jason Castro.
November 5, 201411 yr Author I'd rather see Viciedo dealt for Castro than Viciedo dealt for Dominic Brown.
November 5, 201411 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) I'd rather see Viciedo dealt for Castro than Viciedo dealt for Dominic Brown. Pass on both. If you don't like Viciedo or Flowers at the plate, you won't like Castro or Brown.

Aside from Abreu, Sale and Q who on the Sox is desirable? Out of the everyday players, maybe Lexi. Sox fans like Lexi, A. Garcia and Eaton, but are they really guys teams want? They can definitely do without those guys.

Abreu, Sale, Q, Lexi, Avi, Eaton, Conor, Micah, Semien, Sanchez, Bassitt, Rodon, Adams, Montas, Anderson, Hawkins, Danish, Beck etc. The sox have a lot of desirable pieces. It's just that nothing more than something like Hawkins and Beck would net Jason Castro.

Sox fans like Lexi, A. Garcia and Eaton, but are they really guys teams want? They can definitely do without those guys. It's not true whatsoever. The Sox have a ton of desirable assets, just as every team in the majors does. Suggesting otherwise is nothing short of absurd and ridiculous.

November 5, 201411 yr Author If I had to make a bet, I'd bet on Castro having a better season than Flowers next season.
November 5, 201411 yr I think Conger was brought in to give Castro some competition after Castro's numbers took a big hit in 2014. I don't think the Astros deal Castro and if they do I hope its not the Sox. As others have said, if Castro is an upgrade its a very slight upgrade and that's before taking into account how Flowers knows the Sox pitching or the fact that Flowers hitting progressed in 2014 while Castro regressed. Astro fans can keep their precious Castro, the Sox do not need him.
