When I was 16, the White Sox debuted their new free agent catcher, Carlton Ernest Fisk.

Ernest? Dude was probably terrible.

When I was 16, (this is a cool spin on this thread), Veeck's strategy was "rent a player". This was the South Side Hit Men, and I still get chills as I type that. Singing with Nancy Fox. I received my driver's license and we started going to 4-5 games a week from the far north burbs. The team won 90 games, was in first place mid August but fell 12 games short of the Royals.

The day I turned 16, Billy Koch blew a save against the Devil Rays in front of 9,493 fans.

The most surprising numbers? 52% of the site is 30 or older.

78-0.

Wow.

80-1 Let's hear it for the women......er, woman.

Technically I jumped the gun on grandpa Tex. That will actually happen in August.

On my 16th birthday, the Sox lost to the Orioles 6-5. Kenny Williams went 0-4, but I'm sure it was a grindy 0-4.

I'm very surprised with the age results.

When I turned 16 the Sox beat the Indians 4-2 in front of 7,787 rabid fans at Comiskey Park.

Greg Pryor went 3 for 3, Chet Lemon and Mike Squires each swiped a base, and Rich Wortham improved his record to 6-4 on the season.

He would finish the year at a robust 14-14 with a 4.90 ERA for a Sox team which would finish at 73-87.

On my 16th birthday, the Sox will face the Twins at home at 1 PM. Chris Sale will throw a perfect game. Jose Abreu will hit 6 grand slams.

I hope you're nine years old if that is the case.

If only.

I thought it'd be higher than 52%, considering how long the site has been around.

Band or political shill?
