Why wouldn't they? He gave them all access 24/7

he should really get a life and have his lackeys quit the beating

of the drum.

I'd take Ozzie back in a heartbeat instead of the corpse we currently

have. thanks, douglas

I think you are one of the few, but you will have a friend in greg.

Ozzie's act grew very old very quickly and getting rid of him was a blessing for this team. Initially it seemed he'd be great for young players but he quickly grew out of that phase and moved on to preferring veterans above all else and it really hurt the Sox in the long-run.

I'm glad Ozzie's gone and am going to be just fine when he stays gone.

All he has to do is give up 2 million dollars from the marlins.

oh man that must be 1 huge burn to those marlin owners.

Only way Ozzie gets a job with this club is if it entails carrying a mop around and having to clean Mr. Kenny Williams' s***ter every day. A very sloppy Kenny Williams, I would presume.

After reading every word of that article, I am now a big fan of Robin and Kenny Williams. Read their words closely. They praise Ozzie incessantly. Class acts of them to praise Ozzie.

I wonder if Maddon would bring in Ozzie as Cubs 3B coach or if he has a problem with Ozzie. I think Robin would do it but can't because of his mouth. Just the chance he might do even one interview is too risky. His words obviously would come out as second-guessing Robin even if he didn't mean that. 3B coaches rarely get interviewed once the season starts, but it'd happen with Ozzie occasionally and one interview would be too many.

I loved Ozzie's quotes about the Marlins ruining his career. It's amazing how that owner quickly soured on Oz. Man, when Ozzie made those comments about the owner, that was that. I do worship Ozzie and I say that knowing if I ever met him, he might offfend me or get in my face. He's that unpredictable.

Loris gets revenue sharing money. I doubt he notices.

That said, Ozzie is getting 6 million for sitting on his ass from 2013-2015. Why beg for a job now?

He's mended a lot of the bridges he burned when he left but I don't see this happening with the white sox right now. Ozzie isn't Hahns favorite person.

I have a suspicion that Ozzie's drinking problem alone will be a roadblock to sticking with a MLB position

Because nobody is talking about him and he can't stand it. "Someone look at me! Someone notice me! "

i see that i read that, i don't believe it. i think is a spin doctoring being

done to show class by the sox.

very funny and i think it is true.

I been around a long time, and I can say the Ozzie years were the most

entertaining since I was a little kid. Regardless of his perception with most

folks here, he did keep the Sox on the front page and on the AM radio

stations. Name me one Sox manager in the last 50yrs who anybody cared

about listening to? I know what you are going to say, all you care about is

winning, but there's more to it than that, it also has to be provacative.

thanks, douglas

Remember when the Sox were all over the news because their manager was calling people "f**got"? That was so great for the franchise

or when his kids were sounding off about the franchise and KW all while their dad was still employed. Good times.

Correlation doesn't imply causation though. All of the positive press the Sox got in that era was related to them winning. All of the press the Ozzie got that WASN'T related to winning was negative and distracting. Any manager could have gotten us the positive press if we won a WS.

In order for you to argue that Ozzie was responsible for that era being "entertaining," you have to argue that he was an absolutely necessary condition for them winning the WS. I can acknowledge that he was a contributor that year, but I don't think anyone can make a non-speculative argument that they couldn't/wouldn't have won with any other decent manager instead.

For example, how do we know that a manager with a better demeanor doesn't have the team collapse in 2007? Or that Robin's calm at the wheel approach doesn't see the team miss the playoffs in 2006 because they are more relaxed?
