April 4, 201511 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 07:54 PM) Wow, old school PEDs. I don't know anyone in pro sports still using those. According to Ervin it was in some medicine by accident lol
April 6, 201511 yr Didn't see it mentioned anywhere else on the site: The Indians locked up Kluber for 5/$32.5 with two option years. Other than Kluber's age at signing, which is a big factor, it is reminiscent of Sale's contract. Kluber will turn 29 this week, whereas Sale was what, 23 when he signed his?
April 6, 201511 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) It's not that bad for the Twins. They save over $6 million and it's not like they had any chance to compete this year anyway. You make a good point, but I think in general you'd like guys on 4-year deals not to get busted for steroids before they've played a game for you.

They also signed Carrasco long term. It doesn't even feel like news anymore when teams lock up players for their first 1 or 2 FA years, it's normal operating procedure.

April 8, 201511 yr Tigers first team since 1995 to throw shutouts in each of their first 2 games. No team that has dome this has eveer made the playoffs.
April 8, 201511 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) Tigers first team since 1995 to throw shutouts in each of their first 2 games. No team that has dome this has eveer made the playoffs. Well that seems like a useless statistic with little predictive value.
April 8, 201511 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 04:31 PM) Tigers first team since 1995 to throw shutouts in each of their first 2 games. No team that has dome this has eveer made the playoffs. So you are saying the Tigers will set a precedent this season?
April 8, 201511 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) That sucks for the other teams in the division If Rondon and Soria aren't healthy (they say Soria's looked pretty good SO FAR), they might be forced into making an early move. Obviously, the offseason and then spring training didn't go well for the Nathan-Tigers' fans relationship.
April 9, 201511 yr As expected, Cleveland, KC and Detroit look good. Minnie and the Sox? ... Uh, we'll see.
April 9, 201511 yr Verlander still not ready for sim game.... http://m.mlb.com/news/article/117212038/ju...-simulated-game Which means more Lobstein. Nolasco looking like he's going to be out for awhile....so goes the offseason plans of Terry Ryan, with E.Santana and now Nolasco ailing.
April 9, 201511 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) Indians rotation living up to the hype thru 3 games. I wonder how long this Trevor Bauer will last.
April 9, 201511 yr 5 walks and 11 K's...incredible pitch count for that stage in the game. Homers for CLE from Jose Ramirez and some catcher I've never even heard of backing up Gomes.
April 9, 201511 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) Indians rotation living up to the hype thru 3 games. Astros offense living up to the hype thru 3 games
April 11, 201511 yr Career journeyman Jerry Sands is getting a standing ovation in CLE....two big hits including a clutch gapper to come back and take the lead from David Price. Tom Hamilton going nuts.
April 12, 201511 yr Yan gomes injured at a play at the plate, needed 2 players to carry him off the field
