BaconOnAStick Posted May 7, 2015 Share Posted May 7, 2015 Seems like very few extra base hits with guys on base (Melky homer last night excluded). Not just homers, but especially doubles. Everyone, except for the Cardinals a few years ago, feels this way. Especially when there's not many HR's. That's because the double that scores the runs winds up on 2nd and the inning eventually has to end. It's natural, the Sox have had plenty of hits in big situations but if the ball's not leaving the park eventually runners are going to be stranded. Right now, the biggest trade chip the Sox have (realistically) is Samardzija.
