I'm going to assume Gillaspie is hurting (or they're worried the turf will hurt his foot), or else it makes no sense to not get his bat into the lineup. He has an OPS of .845 this month.

Danks is just about average for a starter in terms of K% this year and in his career. I think it has more to do with Gillaspie's plantar fasciitis. Not there is many turf parks left , I think it's just TOR and TB now, Toronto's turf is very strange.
