Failure from top to bottom...

To think I got fooled into thinking this year would be different than the last couple.

Coaching staff and a few of the players need to be gone/reassigned.

The holding hands/care bear way hasn't worked for the past 5 years.

The Pirates were on a tear coming into this series...but it's not like we did ourselves any favors defensively today.

3 hits isn't going to win many games, either.

Basically, they play the game unselfishly, they have very solid defense and, like the Twins from 2002-2009, they let their opponents beat themselves. (The difference is these days, we can't honestly say we have more talent on our roster compared to other teams.)

Pirates scored 8 runs in 4 wins coming in not exactly a tear.

Yes, but a winning streak nonetheless (and the growing confidence that goes with that)...and, if you look at their overall offensive stats over the last month, every aspect of their team is on an upwards trend.

Our defense is poor yes - and that is the most important aspect of baseball.

But WOW this team from an offensive stand point is beyond putrid.

No power, no patience, strike out happy.

Does it make anyone else a little irritated whenever the 9th rolls around and we are down a run how the hitters all of a sudden are slightly more patient? If you can show that approach in the 9th, why can't you do some of that the rest of the game? The culture of suck runs strong with this organization.
