July 17, 201510 yr Still don't buy it, something is up. "Likely start sunday"...uh, and what if he doesn't? WHat would be the reason for 9-10 days between starts if he "feels great"?
July 17, 201510 yr He'll start Sunday. I think they wanted to keep it open just in case he got in the game Tuesday and wanted to have an option. Personally, I would have had him starting in 3 hours, but that's just me.

July 17, 201510 yr QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:08 AM) Is this confirmed or just speculation? Hahn hinted at it this morning, but said Robin will confirm before today's games.
July 17, 201510 yr QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:23 PM) That's a good sign. However, Sale seems like the type that wants the ball every time out even when he isn't fully healthy, so hopefully he isn't pitching hurt. oh man, that mean this makes the other debate moot. or is it mute??? ummm
July 17, 201510 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) oh man, that mean this makes the other debate moot. or is it mute??? ummm I have no idea what you're trying to say.

With his talent, age and contract a team would need to send an entire infield of MLB ready prospects/young players for him. No one is totally untouchable.

Like JR has said in the past, he's only ever had one player who was untouchable and he played basketball.

Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 11m11 minutes ago #WhiteSox were always going to throw Chris Sale on Sunday or later, no matter what. He's been a horse, wanted to give him a break. 0 retweets 0 favorites
July 17, 201510 yr QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) Like JR has said in the past, he's only ever had one player who was untouchable and he played basketball. Rick actually referenced that on Mully and Hanley, said something like "As Jerry said, the only untouchable player under him wore #23, and I am pretty sure that isnt Robin"
July 17, 201510 yr Mike Musary @Muzzkill7 10m10 minutes ago @CSNHayes According to Baseball Prospectus, Chris Sale leads all of MLB in Pitcher Abuse Points, so an extended break is not a bad thing.

What does that even mean? Is that some sort of advanced metric?
July 17, 201510 yr QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:23 AM) What does that even mean? Is that some sort of advanced metric? http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary...at&stat=123 It's really simplistic. Abuse points for a game are (Pitch Count - 100)^3, so every additional pitch over 100 is a little bit worse than the one before it. Obviously 100 is an arbitrary number, and the 115th pitch in one game might be less stressful than the 95th in a different game. It does appear in BP's "Archaic" glossary, so I don't know if anybody takes PAP seriously or not.

August 16, 201510 yr @ChuckGarfien: Chris Sale in his career against the Cubs: 16 innings, 1 run, 3 walks, 25 strikeouts.
August 16, 201510 yr One of the most dominating pitchers in the game. Hard to believe but when this season is over he'd have spent five full years in the bigs. And he hasn't come close to sniffing a playoff start. Such a shame. Mark
August 16, 201510 yr miguel montero @miggymont26 12m12 minutes ago I have to be honest we have not chance today with Sale he's was from another planet today. It's ok we have to lose sometime #WeAreGood

August 16, 201510 yr If you want to lose brain cells, read the replies to this comment. https://www.facebook.com/SportsCenter/photo...2%3A%22R9%22%7D Apparently, Sale is barely a top-20 pitcher in baseball. "He's better than top 20 and probably more top 10 but a few I'd prefer over him? Kershaw, Grienke, Bumgarner, Price, Archer, Keuchel, Cueto, Scherzer, Kluber, Arrieta, Gray"
