Is cespedes good at defense? Man, i'd love love love that power.

Yes Cespedes has a rocket arm and is very good defensively. Plus playing with Abreu we would have a chance to resign him after the season.

So, what would Cespedes cost?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:39 PM)
I know you were kidding, but that SoxNet account mentioned that too for some reason. Just because player so and so isn't in a lineup in late July, way too many people feel a need to make it out to mean something other than most baseball players don't play 162 games a year.

It is probably nothing. But it can't hurt to pay attention to those sorts of details.

YES, A RUMOR

Go get em boys. Bob don't let us down break that scoop soon!!

Pitching. Probably starting and relief

Well he has a tremendous arm. Melky would probably move to RF.

Trading for him would actually hurt the chances of signing him.

Just for two-three months of him?

This team is seemingly building a lot of great chemistry, and I hope whatever move is made does not mess with that much. Not too worried about it, but just a thought. This team is gellin' and I don't want anyone traded that might be missed by someone on the big league roster. If Avi's teammates love him, keep him please...

Cubans cubans, we want Cubans!!

Could go both ways. Positive, he likes it here with Aberu and Alexei as fellow Cubans. Negative, no draft pick connected to him and teams will likely overpay.

Would anyone give Detroit Avi back for a couple months of Cespedes?

Or he could play LF and Melky could DH.

There is always an advantage of talking to Dombrowski, he doesn't F around. AA just said the same is his press conference. He said the Price deal was first talked about before Tulo and he wasn't available but AA told him to call them if anything changed. DD called at 6 last night and AA waited till after 10 didn't hear anything so was half way home till DD called at 1130 with ideas for deals. He said by three am they had a deal. So I hope we are talking to the Tigers about Cesepedes.

I'm saying a lower starting pitching prospect and maybe Putnam or JP but who knows.

His contract calls for him to be released at the end of the season. Teams releasing players cannot sign them again until May 15th. The team that winds up with Cespedes on the last day of the season will be his ex-team 5 days later.

No. If so, but if they did or if you would, I would not add to the deal.

I like Cespedes but not as a rental. If you give them Avi, you have a hole in RF to fill next year in addition to catcher/3b/SS.

Really so if he walks after the season there's no compensation for either that team or the Tigers if they keep Cespedes.

Can he request the release or does the team have to do it? I'm confused by that, sorry.

The deal should be contingent on Cespedes signing an extension here before the deal would be completed.

Yeah, not sure I understood his contract either, what stipulation is that?

Not for a couple of months that would be steep.

Quintana would be very happy.

We already have a hole in RF>
