November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) Matt Eddy @MattEddyBA 18m18 minutes ago #DBacks sign C Brett Hayes and #WhiteSox sign 2B Steve Lombardozzi, who both elected free agency this month, to minor league deals. Me: He was okay for a minute, wasn't he? *checks* Me: No he was not. Not okay, and for no minutes. Wait is that... is that a NEGATIVE SEVENTY-ONE wrC+ in 2015? How can you... ? 0 for 11 with one walk, that's how.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Can't say I understand this move. It's a minor league contract. Maybe it's a favor to a scout or an agent, or maybe they just need another infielder at Charlotte. Besides, they can waive him in Spring Training, and the White Sox bank account will never even know he was in the organization.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Can't say I understand this move. I can't understand why people can't understand moves like this. Even our minor league teams needs bench players.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 12:51 PM) ...0 for 11 with one walk, that's how. But it was a damn good walk.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) This getting its own thread is hilarious. Let's give Lombardozzi a nickname, like Bacon Slayer or TCQ.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 07:24 PM) Can't say I understand this move. They just wanted to give soxtalk posters something to gripe about. We need more negativity
November 2, 201510 yr Do you guys remember when Charlotte was a playoff team, and then we brought up Saladino, Micah, Trayce and EJ, and the team crashed? Charlotte has a new stadium, presumably they want to field a good team and sox signing some vet fodder is good. He's not blocking anyone.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) This getting its own thread is hilarious. If we had a catch-all..... This thread getting negative reaction is hilarious.
November 2, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) This getting its own thread is hilarious. Welcome to no catch all land.

Besides, they can waive him in Spring Training, and the White Sox bank account will never even know he was in the organization. It didn't make sense to me at first due to the IF depth the Sox already have but you make a few good points. Edit: makes even more sense now that Beckham has filed for FA. November 2, 201510 yr Steve Lombardozzi - 2B - Diamondbacks Diamondbacks signed INF Steve Lombardozzi to a minor league contract. Lombardozzi went 0-for-10 with four strikeouts for the Pirates in 2015 and he also posted underwhelming numbers on the farm. The 27-year-old utilityman probably won't crack the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster. Source: Matt Eddy on TwitterNov 2 - 1:41 PM

November 3, 201510 yr Rotoworld reports that he went to the Diamondbacks as well..... http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6767/steve-lombardozzi That would really suck if we lost out on our first major free agent target of the offseason
