id be willing to agree to 30 days or at least until after the 1st of the year,

I think 30 days is reasonable. Spoiler tags for 30 days? Beyond that, if you come into this thread you should expect it.

The whole idea behind "cancel culture" is dumb.  The same people who are screaming this in response to things like being a racist and committing treason against the nation are the same ones who cancel

I assume the price would just be buying out all the seats. I don't think they would care if that's the case.

I just figured they were guaranteed almost sellouts already, but my guess is they are re-purposing other show times to fit our request rather than sellout current showings for the hottest movie.

I'd vote for January 1st before we stop using spoiler tags. Easy day to remember. People can be forewarned.

January 1st sounds good to me. Besides, by that time The Last Jedi will be SOOO last year.

Also, it's not like this is the movie thread. This is the STAR WARS thread. You can't seriously be reading this thread before you are caught up with the new one.

Yeah TBH I think we'll handle by creating a spoilers thread and then re-merging

You guys can just avoid this thread entirely until you see it if you don't want to see spoilers. It's not that hard. If you haven't seen it, don't come into a thread about it.

Friday @ Noon. IMAX. Stoked.

They just released what is likely the last trailer. Most of it stuff we've already seen... but that very last shot at the end of it... :o

Reviews coming in and they are fantastic for the most part. Thursday needs to hurry up and get here.

With a high average rating too. 8.4 is a really good score. I'm sure those both come down some but after 99 reviews in already and a good Metacritic score too it is clear critics love it.

I feel like the reviews for The Force Awakens were pretty great too, and then after everything calmed down the tone seemed to be "Yeah, it was fine".

I still loved TFA, but it seemed to fall out of favor once the mass audience saw and digested it.

I moved joshua's post even though it didn't have spoilers just to not confuse the issue.

I rewatched the prequels, which everyone hates, and have come to the conclusion that they are not a s***ty as people make them out to be. To me, it makes sense that the Jedi who become Sith Lords are whiny insecure emo teenagers. They don't know their path in life. Everything is conflicted. It makes perfect sense to me.

I too just finished the prequels again. I will always ride or die with Episode 1 for Darth Maul and easily the best light sabre fights of any of the films.

Episode 2 is beyond saving. It is a disgraceful film.

Episode 3 has its moments.

There is way too much CGI, and the acting is atrocious. I feel like those movies are getting worse with time.

I still say Darth Maul should've lasted more than 1 movie!

Yeah Maul was great. I wasn't happy with how weird he was in The Clone Wars cartoon. Episode 1 had some cool things (Maul/his fight, Obiwan, Qui Gon, pod racing), but also had atrocious dialogue, way too much Jar-Jar, crappy kid Anakin.

Yeah, 1 is actually my least favorite. Maul is a cool character, but I at least sort of enjoyed the huge Jedi fight in the arena in Attack of the Clones, and love me some Jango Fett.

1 was just such a kids movie, it's really hard for me to watch. The Pod Racing, Jar Jar, all of the Gugan stuff really, Jake Lloyd being...not a good child actor.

Just a rough one.

Agreed, episode one is easily the worst. Darth Maul may be a cool looking character but he also has zero depth to him. He alone doesn’t overcome all the wrongs with the film.

Just looked him up, he retired from acting and then moved to Indiana where he attended Carmel HS. Then went to Columbia in Chicago for 1 semester. He's now diagnosed schizo and lives in Cali.

I think 1 is the worst, but it still had some redeemable things about it. And to be clear about the pod racing scene: I think the concept of it was cool, the way it was presented (the announcing was embarrassing) was bad. It had so many lame ass cliches for a racing scene and went on too long.

When people explain some of the backstory again to me in the prequels, I think it sounds interesting. But then when I watch them I just can't, to say the dialogue is bad is an injustice. But they look just awful. Honestly they look like a sega video game half the time. When people said TLJ looked like the prequels, I was like "no no, go watch the prequels again".

I realize some groudning to the prequels backlash is expected, but I'm honestly always surprised how bad they are.

Reminds me of this classic 7 part takedown of the Phantom Menace.
