March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) Really not sure why Sands or Turner should make it over Ishikawa The fact that Turner is even still there is just gross to me. He's a bad pitcher. Time to give up.
March 29, 201610 yr Author My lineup would look like: Eaton RF Rollins SS Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Melky LF/DH Garcia LF/DH Lawrie 2B Avila C Jackson CF BE: Saladino, Navarro, Shuck, Ishikawa Sale SP Quintana SP Rodon SP Latos SP Danks SP Robertson CL Jones SU Duke SU Petricka RP Albers RP Jennings RP Carroll RP
March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) If they plan on taking another pitcher, I hope to god that it is not Turner. They will try to sneak Turner through waivers at the very end of camp with the goal to have him start in Charlotte. He makes $1.5 million though. I doubt anyone claims him.
March 29, 201610 yr I like Dunts format, so I will copy his style. The ideal roster for me right now would be: Lineup: Eaton RF Rollins SS Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Melky LF Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia DH Jackson CF Bench: Saladino Avila Shuck Ishikawa Rotation: Sale SP Quintana SP Rodon SP Latos SP Danks SP Bullpen: Robertson CL Jones SU Duke SU Putnam RP Albers RP Jennings RP Carroll RP

March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) It'll be Putnam. Carroll starting in Charlotte Unless Latos gets DL'd.

March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Unless Latos gets DL'd. Beat writers have basically said that Latos is starting Game 4 in Oakland already.
March 29, 201610 yr Sure sucks for Davidson and C. Sanchez. Both had great springs. Just no room for them.
March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Sure sucks for Davidson and C. Sanchez. Both had great springs. Just no room for them. It would have been nice if Davidson has this spring a year or two ago isntead of waiting until we traded a nice package for Frazier.
March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) Sure sucks for Davidson and C. Sanchez. Both had great springs. Just no room for them. The "problem" is, that they're keeping an extra RP for the first month of the season and it limits the bench. It would be helpful if teams had 26 man rosters these days.
March 29, 201610 yr Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 2m2 minutes ago Scottsdale, AZ White Sox reassigned OF Jason Coats to Minor League camp White Sox optioned INF Matt Davidson, INF Leury Garcia, RHP Tommy Kahnle and INF Carlos Sanchez to Class AAA Charlotte;
March 29, 201610 yr Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 40s40 seconds ago #WhiteSox down to 31 players in camp. In-house battle for last man is down to: Jerry Sands, Travis Ishikawa or possibly 13th pitcher.
March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) Sure sucks for Davidson and C. Sanchez. Both had great springs. Just no room for them. While it does suck...you can tell both these guys really put the work in this off season...and it's not a bad problem to have if you have to send guys down that had the Springs they had. And on the plus side...they'll get consistent at bats instead of minimal PT.
March 29, 201610 yr Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 3m3 minutes ago Carlos Sanchez, one of several players to talk to manager today, has a team-high 54 at-bats this spring. Hitting .333/.368/.593. Hope he gets another extended shot in MLB, if not with us than with somebody else. He will end up being a significantly better player than he showed last year.

He has plenty of time to make his mark. Historically, he usually comes back much stronger during his second go around at a level.

March 29, 201610 yr Ishikawa's left-handedness is nice, but it would also be nice if he hit higher than .222 since 2013.
March 29, 201610 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) IMO, we should've kept Sanchez or Davidson. Things can change pretty quickly the first month of the season. If needed, it's nice knowing they'll be ready down in AAA.
March 29, 201610 yr So the Sox should just ignore the 1141 plate appearances Davidson has made in AAA the past 2 years where he barely hit .200 and struck out more often than Adam Dunn, and base a roster spot on the 44 plate appearances he made this spring in games that don't count. No one really can be serious, right? Send him to Charlotte. If he's worth a roster spot, he will show he's worth a roster spot.
