Bangkok red light "mission trip" saved Sox from LaRoche

Sounds like Laroche was looking for a way out. He got it, so bye Felicia.

Here is the Deadspin piece.

Drew Magary is the best.

So he went to Bangkok in November of 2015?

Good grief...how did the Sox allow him to do something dangerous like that?

"Dress up like Chris Tucker in The Fifth Element and hit the ballpark every day. Then I’ll buy all this nonconformity bulls***."

Note to FO: Pass on Blaine Boyer, should the opportunity ever arise.

Clearly hoping to get out of his contract :)

Apparently they need a "No hanging out with sex slaves" clause written into their contracts.

I don't have a problem with Laroche deciding to retire. I have a problem with him turning it into a player vs management conflict on the way out. Seems like that was one time where he didn't take the high road. That was very un-Christian of him.

Sounds like Adam LaRoche is getting out in front of a story that could develop in the future.

-"I was only in Bangkok to help those sex workers"

-"I brought my friend because he believes in the cause too....right, Blaine? You 'believe in the cause' he he"

-"Those videos were for compiling evidence!"

-"She said she was 18!"

How do we know she was a she?

You never know in Thailand.

Here is the Deadspin piece.

This is a better piece of journalism than the first one.

Can we get LaRoche's name to be recognized as a curse word around here so it's starred out like b**** or s***?? His name makes me cringe.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of fantasy team names suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly changed. I fear Adam LaRoche has visited a Bangkok whorehouse.

When this story first came out I really understood it from both perspectives but at this point, f*** off Laroche.

This story feels like Bangkok is an excuse after the fact.

Awesome. I used to love that video. Without cheating, someone name that band!

Deadspin can be exhausting at their same exhasperating tone at everything, but damn if that didn't make me cry laughing.

That article from ESPN was garbage. Lots of tell, little show. Did he say he was from Kansas yet? Kansas! That's a state that's not new york!

Thinking back, something else that gets glossed over... So how are Drake's grades? They talk about him a lot, but they sure left that part out.

It doesn't matter as long as he behaves. DO YOU GET IT YET.

What a tool. To me, the money shot in the article is this:

But Drake was different, he says: "the exception to the rule."

In other words: I know no one else can bring their kids to work all the time and I understand I was lucky to be paid a gazillion dollars to play a game, but it's okay because this is MY kid we're talking about and he's awesome. So in other works, despite saying 'I get it' a thousand times I really don't. Oh, and I don't care for schools and their fancy book learnin'.

Some very anti-LaRoche people here.

What did he do wrong? He made a personal decision that he's made enough money doing his job and wanted to retire if it wasn't going the way he planned.

Don't get why it's any skin off our nose. He prepared, worked hard and did what was asked of him.

Seems like an overall great guy who cares about the integrity of a person. World would probably be better with more people like him.

So what he didn't hit a little white ball very well for us. He's not making any stink about this. Guarantee if this was 1990 when this happened there would be one newspaper article about it in the Sun-Times and Trib and be done. Media driven right now.

I think you're misinterpreting the reason for our anger towards him...

By the way, I'm pretty sure re-tweeting hundreds of pro-LaRoche/anti-White Sox tweets is "making a stink about this" (his meat company's Twitter)

He didn't make a stink about it at all, you guys just don't get it yet, you slow children.
