May 28, 20169 yr How soon until the talk instead turns to dumping players...incredible as it may seem?
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Why trade now when it's just as likely you are sellers in two months If they are sellers Rick Hahn might as well pack his bags. He wont be coming back.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ May 28, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) If they are sellers Rick Hahn might as well pack his bags. He wont be coming back. Probably what needs to happen. Doesn't know how to build a winner or farm system
May 28, 20169 yr I honestly don't think there is anything Hahn or KW could do to get fired. They both seem to be untouchable until the team has new ownership.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Why trade now when it's just as likely you are sellers in two months They aren't selling.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 28, 2016 -> 10:54 PM) They aren't selling. What if they are ten out come July 31
May 28, 20169 yr A big no to taking on that Shields contract. This team will be 7 or 8 games out come Mid-July most likely. There is no way to overcome such bad managing and such a bad bullpen.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 28, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Keith Law said, Tim Anderson is available for a SP... *shrugs* He said he's available for a "mid-rotation pitcher". I thinks that's very fair value, Hahn... Doesn't seem like a panic move at all...
May 28, 20169 yr If they trade Tim Anderson for a middling starting pitcher when that's not even on the Top 10 list of team needs at the moment...I will petition Harvard to retroactively take back Hahn's JD degree. Edited May 28, 20169 yr by caulfield12
May 28, 20169 yr If Anderson is available then they should have traded him already for a big bat like CarGo
May 28, 20169 yr white sox are among teams that have talked about james shields, as @sdutdennislin reported. not certain of chances. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/736681227466514433
May 28, 20169 yr This is the kind of garbage incompetent trade that has resulted in 1 playoff appearance in a decade.
May 28, 20169 yr REPORT: Erik Johnson and Fernando Tatis Jr. rumored to be involved in @barstoolWSD 's reported James Shields deal. https://t.co/snUx1PMMbX https://twitter.com/BrianBilek_/status/736682992349941761 Erik Johnson was supposed to start for Charlotte Knights today, but has been removed and probable is listed as TBD. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/BrianBilek_/status/736683215667269632
May 28, 20169 yr Well, one thing's for sure. Shields was credited with being the main leader to turn the Royals around in 2013 and 2014. This would be an even bigger test, to right this sinking ship and fast. If nothing else, it buys Robin Ventura 2-3 more weeks of time. It's also almost comical how Miguel Gonzalez is going to lose his spot when he has nothing to do with losing his last couple of starts. Poor guy has 13 consecutive outings where he started and his team (Balt and the Sox) has lost. I'm sure he planned on having a much bigger 32nd birthday celebration last night when he left the game with a "safe" lead. Almost would rather replace Latos in the rotation, but that won't happen. May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) This is the kind of garbage incompetent trade that has resulted in 1 playoff appearance in a decade. I would have to agree 100% . That contract is ridiculous for a guy his age.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) Rabbit tweeted that Johnson was scratched Removed from the website as a SP, then added back.
May 28, 20169 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:29 PM) Credit to WhiteSoxDave on the story. Read more: http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/?p=10...t/preview/10678 NOOOOO.
May 28, 20169 yr The White Sox should NOT be trading young high ceiling guys for expensive old players on the decline! When will we learn?
May 28, 20169 yr Picking up a pitcher who is owed 40 million over the next two years is a terrible idea. This Sox team is way too flawed this year and has no chance to realistically compete with such a bad bullpen and massive holes at SS, C, and DH.
