I don't want to start a debate in light of current events, but this would only be true if the black furred dog was systematically oppressed for the better part of American history. This attitude is incredibly naive and borderline insulting.

What I said is, from the start of American history, or history in general, the mere idea of basing hate on the color of one's skin is silly. It's as silly as black bears and polar bears hating each other based on nothing other than fur color.

I never absolved the struggles or realities of the world. I never in that statement pretended oppression didn't occur. I'm merely pointing out that color is f***ing silly, and everything ever done based on color is even sillier. Because it is.

Hey everyone, I know emotions are a bit tense, but let's try and keep it civil in here.

I think I might have a skewed view of current events going on by what I have read collectively on social media and the internet. I am hoping that we really arent as divided as those forums seem to strongly indicate.

 

It's a vocal minority, also known as the lowest common denominator.

When I just did that, the liberal feed was a bunch of news reports on who the shooter was, articles about how the Dallas PD is a model police force and about the man that police sent out initially (and incorrectly).

 

The conservative one is a bunch of breitbart articles about how Obama is terrible.

Yeah, it's like the other poster said about social media, nearly all of the people who here are far to one side or the other. Everything boils down to right or left.

 

It's similar to election season when I listen to XM on america right and america left. They each take the same event and really spin in to their own view.

You speak of oppression in the past tense and act like I'm out of touch? There is no equality in America. Hell, we live in one of the most segregated and oppressive metropolitan areas in the country.

You've still missed my point since at no time did I speak about oppression in my original statement, you did. I merely pointed out the absurdity behind hate based on nothing more than color.

I am confused, like usual. Is the gunman they have ID'd the same dude that you see on the ground shooting that cop behind the pillar? And if it is did he then get away to take people out from the parking garage?

It would seems like it. I know they have other suspects in custody but they haven't said if they are shooting suspects or accomplice type suspects.

From what I am reading federal officials have determined he was the only shooter. Maybe others assisted but he seems to be the only guy shooting.

 

With that being said its pretty remarkable that he was able to go into combat with a police force on the ground without being shot himself and then get up to an elevated level and start firing away as well.
