  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 01:07 PM) My mom mentioned the other week that Bass Pro Shops have a free Santa edit: http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/santas-wonderland Yeah, it's free, including a free photo. Gotta go early and get a free ticket to reserve your spot for the day though. Ok thanks, I'll look into that.
  6. Any recommendations on where to take kids to see Santa that does NOT cost $30 plus dollars? Seems like everything I can find is either a "breakfast with Santa" or photos in the mall with Santa, but the packages are all more than I was looking to spend.
  7. That's horrible news. Roy Halladay was one of my favorite players, he was just so damn good. I would try to mimic his pitching motion when I played wiffleball. RIP.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 08:55 PM) This storm has cause a little seepage under a wall in my basement. Anything I can do or just fans and call someone later? When I lived in Westchester, I would always get seepage in my basement on the south side of the house. Since we wanted to sell that house, we had US Waterproofing come out to look at it, and they found a few cracks that needed to be filled. I think it ended up costing us something like $3000, which sucked, but I wanted it done properly because we were selling. If you are interested, I can look up the name of the guy who I worked with at US Waterproofing. They were super nice and not pushy at all.
  9. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 26, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) Sam's Club or Costco is the way to go. Usually have good deals on tires and they throw in free balancing, rotation, flat fix and road side assistance. I bought tires from Costco for our last two cars. The only issue I've run into is that I"m almost always told it's a 1 to 2 hour wait to have my tires rotated no matter what time of day I go there. Sometimes that's not an issue if I actually need to do shopping, but there have been times where I stopped by just to get the tires rotated and don't want to wait that long to have it done. Anyone else run into that issue at Costco?
  10. Jon Lester got real creative....his jersey will say "Lester"
  11. Delmonico with a 2 run double off the monster. I like his approach so far. Keep it up, rook.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 10:41 PM) My 16 year old is on her last days. Just awful. Im heartbroken Man, sorry to hear that.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) We bought the 15 Odessey LE brand new off of the lot. I just got done driving it about 3000 miles over the course of a week for a family vacation for four. Honestly for a mini-van it does the job pretty well. I hate the size of the thing as all things that size feel like a bus to me, but it did the job pretty well. I had the cruise control set to 85 for most of the trip, the kids had their extras, it has the right side and back up cameras, etc. It has some nice get up and go for something that size. We ended up getting a 2014 Sienna last week, and then took a family vacation to Wisconsin for a few days. I'm liking it a lot so far. I do agree though, it's huge compared to the cars I've been driving most of my life, though. But man....the storage space is awesome! QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 10:24 AM) Ha! I'm in the exact same boat. Same two cars too. We are leaning Sienna because of the AWD, but they are very expensive new, and used are hard to come by. Meanwhile, good tires on a FWD are probably fine. I don't know if anyone here has driven an Odyssey or Sienna in the snow. yea, i don't recall seeing many 2014 in AWD available, if any. Ours is a FWD only.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 05:08 PM) Hah...I wish I had a minivan. Wanted one but my wife sternly vetoed it (something about too young to have minivans...blah blah). I actually prefer the big SUVs but I'm a cheapass. We still love our highlander though. Minivans are just so damn convenient / comfortable. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 08:55 AM) Yeah they have jacked up the cost of the big SUV's, especially if you need an actual 3rd row. My wife's lease is up soon on her cherokee and we've been looking around and damn. Of course she wants a damn volvo SUV which arent cheap at all. You guys hit the nail on the head....Highlander was exactly what we wanted because of the third row. Due to having two kids in carseats, we were looking for a SUV that has bucket seats in the 2nd row, and easy access to the third row. Apparently this wasn't an option on the Highlander until 2014 (or maybe it was an option before 2014, but with the higher trim line). Every Highlander that had decent miles was just so much more expensive than a minivan. My wife was hesitant on the minivan idea at first, but like Chisoxfn said...it's just so convenient, with more space than the Highlander, and at $5-10K less in price.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) Ive heard people love both of those. I'm not a mini-van guy but I get the appeal. Oh, I hear ya, I'm not either. We were originally going the large SUV route, but the good ones are much more expensive than the minivans. The good news is that I won't be the one driving the minivan.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:07 PM) Which one? Mini-van shopping is like a different sport. I listened to sales guys getting trained on selling the Chrysler Caravan and the features are completely different but totally relevant. We were looking at the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna, but after reviewing Consumer Reports Auto Car Buying Guide, it looks like we now more focused on the Sienna. Due to our budget, we are kinda stuck looking at models between 2013 and 2015, probably with the LE trim. We considered other brands, but we like the reliability of Toyota/Honda.
  17. You guys talking about Audi's and Tesla's....well, I'll make you all drool... Going next week to buy a MINIVAN. Yea, top that one, suckers. (I'm so jealous of you guys and your cool cars)
