  1. Last week, I had a phone interview for a job, and they are asking me to come in next Tuesday for an in-person interview. The phone interview was a conference call with the department head, the Director of Operations, and the Executive Director, and lasted about 45 minutes, going over my work history, asking me what seems like normal interview questions on situations/projects/school/etc. Now, I don't have much experience for this second level of interviews, because I've only had 2 jobs for the past 14 years (only been at my current job for 1.5 years). The in-person interview for my current job was a joke and lasted only about 15 minutes, so (to me) it's not really a good thing to base this upcoming interview on. I know every situation is different, but I'm just looking to get some kind of feel on what I should get prepared on for this upcoming interview. Do they typically ask for more situation experience? Or are they just trying to see how I may fit in with others there? Any kind of input would help. Thanks in advance.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 11:26 AM) I just don't see where it's guaranteed he plays game 1, or really, that he's back to 100% for game one. I think Chirs Kuc heard you asking, lol: Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 10m Jonathan Toews could begin skating tomorrow. #Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Toews & Patrick Kane will be 100 percent for playoffs.

  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 02:42 PM) They've upped security at the United Center too, with a longer pat down and metal detector swipe, it's slowed the entrance process down there too. My buddy was drinking a can of beer as he was walking into the park. He put his hands up in the air for the metal detector swipe...and they didn't even notice the beer in his hand. He was able to finish the can inside the park, just past the entry point; I still can't believe that neither security nor the ticket scanners noticed that.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 09:00 AM) 1 year $14.1 million http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/braves...mp;ymd=20140312 Per Rotoworld: Kris Medlen told the media Wednesday morning that he's spent the past couple days preparing himself to undergo a second Tommy John surgery.
  6. Maybe his bro can convince him to come here afterall? "Per Rotoworld: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Michael Bennett won't re-sign with the Seahawks before the start of free agency, and plans to test the open market."
  7. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 19, 2014 -> 08:03 AM) But why were the SB numbers down so much? I can't remember where I read it, but basically this may have been due more to Kirk Gibson's style of play. Last year, the DBacks ranked 26th in baseball in stolen bases.
  8. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) They're already available from MLB.com as well. My friend tried ordering a Abreu jersey shirt for a Christmas gift, but his order was cancelled by the MLB shop. He placed it again...cancelled again. So he gives them a call to see why it keeps getting cancelled. He was told, "He is too new of a player", so they couldn't complete his order, even though "Abreu - 79" was an option on the website. Not sure if things have changed a month later, but just a heads up if you try to order it at the MLB Shop.

  10. QUOTE (Nunnigan @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) Garcia takes Floyd's #34, the number he had with the Tigers Abreu takes Garcia's #26 This is awesome....my Freddy Garcia jersey is now an Avisail Garcia!!
  11. Peralta is starting at SS today instead of Iglesias. I would love to see a misplay at short cost the Tigers the series.
  12. Per Rotoworld: Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he is "absolutely" considering letting Mariano Rivera in center field this weekend against the Astros. Girardi isn't going to do it Thursday against the Rays because the game has playoff implications. Ideally, Rivera will play center field in the eighth inning of a game before staying in to get a save chance in the ninth inning, but that's not necessarily how it will go down. Still, it will be fascinating to watch.
  13. My dog's microchip is registered through 24PetWatch.com, and is currently up for renewal. It is $18.95 for a year, or $49.95 for the remainder of the dog's life. This is the first time I ever dealt with a microchip renewal, so I was just curious to what companies everyone is familiar with, and the costs. Thanks in advance.
  14. per Rotoworld, the Tigers signed Jose Valverde to a minor league deal.
  15. Sox will host the 2013 Civil Rights Game on Saturday, August 24th vs the Rangers. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...lb&c_id=mlb
  16. QUOTE (BuehrleTheAce @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 06:32 AM) I figured this was the case, MHizz. Instead of letting things get down to the last minute, though, would it be possible to transfer commish of the league to someone else on an interim basis until you find out for sure? If you do get it, then things will continue as-is. If you don't, commish can be transferred back to you. This is, of course, all dependent on whether commish can be transferred at all and isn't restricted in some way. This can be done...up on top, go to Commish Tools, and then to "Assign Commish Access". He will have the option to assign a new Commish, or instead, give Co-Commish duties to someone.
  17. QUOTE (BuehrleTheAce @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 07:49 AM) Are we going to have a league this year? I'm in.
  18. The deal may now be in jeopardy, per Rotoworld: ESPN's Buster Olney reports that concern over Felix Hernandez's pitching elbow might affect the contract extension he agreed to last week. Well, that certainly came out of nowhere. It was reported last week that King Felix and the Mariners had a deal in place that would pay him a total of $175 million over the next seven seasons, but evidently a physical he took raised a red flag about an elbow issue. It's not clear at this point whether the extension will be reworked or scrapped altogether, nor is it clear whether the ailment might be serious enough to affect his availability for the start of the season.
