6/10 GDT Houston Astros @ Chicago White Sox
smalls2598 replied to Condor13's topic in 2015 Season in Review
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) Beckham at short? When's the last time he played there? I don't mind the weird lineup, when the offense sucks this bad for this long shake it up and see if you can provide a jolt. He started at SS in game 2 of the doubleheader vs Baltimore a few weeks back. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 09:26 AM) At the very least you would have to clear a 40 man roster spot for him until the 60 day DL opens up in the spring, when you could then put him there and open that spot back up again until he can get back to the majors. According to Rotoworld, the Dodgers already placed him on the 60 Day DL "Dodgers placed RHP Brandon Beachy on the 60-day disabled list with an elbow injury. The move clears a 40-man roster spot for Dustin McGowan, who was signed to a one-year contract this weekend. Beachy is working his way back from a second Tommy John surgery and probably won't be an option for the Dodgers' rotation until early June."

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) So does anyone do resignation letters anymore? Or do you just have a meeting with your boss and give a two-week notice? Last month when I gave my 2 week notice, my manager had asked me to submit a letter of resignation. I wasn't planning on doing one until he asked for it, but then again, I never had to submit one before.

Rotoworld: According to CJ Nitkowski of FOX Sports 1, outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has been traded to the Tigers for right-handed starter Rick Porcello. I saw on Twitter that a third team may also be part of the trade, but no details to that just yet. -
I would rather the Sox trade for Brandon Moss than the Indians

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:11 PM) Depends on the employer. And not all background checks are equal. Safest bet is to list it probably. As you and Jason both say, I think I will list it out. It would be a great opportunity for get back into a job market that I enjoy, and I really don't want to mess up my chances by lying if they do see it on my background check. I just really with the word "ever" wasn't on there, it would make this a more simple decision.
-
Regarding background checks: Is there typically a certain time a potential employer looks at a person's background? I thought I had heard it's 7 years; however, the place in which I currently have an offer from asks "have you EVER been convicted". I took a plea bargain for a DUI 10 years ago. I know the proper thing to do is to put it on there, right?

Dunn finally gets to the playoffs......and he's not playing, per Rotoworld: Adam Dunn is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's Wild Card game against the Royals. Dunn is in the playoffs for the first time in his long career, but it looks like he'll be limited to pinch-hitter duty. The full lineup hasn't been announced yet, but Geovany Soto will catch Jon Lester while Brandon Moss will serve as DH and Sam Fuld will play left.

According to the Score: Maddux, Cox, Glavine, Larussa, Thomas, Torre are the order of speeches today
