To one of my favorite players of all time, thanks for everything you've done for the Sox in the past 12 years. To Mark

Hanley doesn't like the Reyes signing: per Rotoworld: Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports that Hanley Ramirez does not want to play third base and wants to be traded if he can't play shortstop.

Why did NBA 2K12 change the heat check?? I always used those features throughout the game for stats and player fatigue. Having to pause the game or call a timeout to view those features sucks. I wish there was an option to change it back. Having the up directional change camera views is dumb.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Where did you see this? I've seen no estimates of a return date/game?? I just saw this on Rotoworld: ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that the Bears have "revised" Jay Cutler's (thumb) timeline for return and now believe he could play in Week 16 or 17 of the regular season. Per Nichols, the Bears became a bit more optimistic after Cutler consulted a hand specialist on Monday morning. Cutler will still require surgery, but his season may not quite be over yet. "They're saying he could be back for the last game, maybe even last two games of the regular season," reported Nichols. Cutler isn't worth hanging onto in standard, 12-team fantasy leagues, but it appears he could be all systems go just before the NFL playoffs. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 07:48 AM) Actually I'd guess its more becuase he missed 1/3 of the season with injury and didn't have enough PA's to qualify for any of the titles. Ah, I didn't even realize he missed time until i looked at his stats. Wow, what an amazing season considering he missed time. And those numbers as a catcher...daaaaamn

Due to a bad wrist, Matt Holliday has been replaced on the roster by Adron Chambers. Allen Craig will start in left today.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) Especially if there's NFL on that Sunday, I woudln't notice a thing. Hell, if there's NFL that sunday and the games actually happen, I'd wind up flipping between the Bulls game and NFL, but would skip the other NBA games. The only game on Christmas Sunday is the Bears/Packers night game. The rest of the games for that week are on Saturday, except for the Thursday and Monday night games. -
My team was in a solid 2nd place after the first month, winning every series, even sweeping a few. We play 2 pts per game, and 3 for series. Then we had 3 horrible weeks in a row, and dropped down to 10th. We finally bowled better last night, and took 7 points. Which is kinda funny, we shot better even though we were down one guy. My average is at 183 going into last night. Shot a 189, 169 and 191....so i hit my average dead on. My goal to a 190 average will have to wait another week.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Theres really only a handful of bars over in the area: West End: Extremely crowded all the time, closest to stadium Beer Bistro-Small and usually busy Third Rail-The smallest Crossroads-My pick, large and usually not that crowded, very good food Ethyl's-Stanleys old space, very upscale bar food, all beers in cans, wide selection Union Park-Ghetto Thanks for the info, Rock.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) Pretty much all of them. Which one are you looking at? Every bar on Madison will. I've never been to any of them before. But I'm going to the game on Saturday night, and a buddy wants to drive to the bar for pre-game food/drinks, then shuttle over to the game. Which do you recommend?
-
Are there any bars/resturants near the United Center that will shuttle you to the game?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) Home run...and an awful double up at 2nd base He also was unable to get to a ball in the first inning (which either a faster Morgan or Gomez should have) which lead to the first run of the game. -

batting 2nd and playing CF for the Brewers today.... Mark Kotsay -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) Your league sucks. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Play in the Chicago park district where you are looked at oddly if you do not have a cooler on your bench. People that do not drink or smoke end up drinking or smoking if they play in this league. Yea, damn Elmhurst league doesn't like the pre-game beer.
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Oh yeah, we do this on my softball team all the time. One of the guys on my team nearly got us kicked out of the league last year when he was caught drinking a beer in the parking lot before a game.

2011 NLDS St. Louis Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Phillies Thread
smalls2598 replied to Brian's topic in The Diamond Club
per Rotoworld: Matt Holliday (finger) will be unavailable for Saturday's NLDS Game 1 against the Phillies. Holliday was given a cortisone shot in his troublesome right middle finger on Thursday morning and is hoping to be ready by Game 2. But there's no guarantee that he'll play in the series at all. -
I'm hoping for a Rays vs Brewers World Series

I'll always remember that game 7 because it was one of the last times I was able to watch a game with my dad. I didn't want to be near any Cubs fans during that game, in case they actually did win. But watching the game with my dad, with a bunch of beers...yea, that was pretty awesome.

I'm not an Ozzie hater, but i have grown sick of his antics. Thanks for 2005, and good luck in Florida.

Here's some crazy trivia sure to make Jordan4Life happy: Kershaw and Lincecum have faced each other 4 times this season, with Kershaw winning all 4 times. And in those four games, courtesy of ESPN: "Lincecum's ERA in those four starts was 1.24. Kershaw's was 0.30. And that, as Robert Frost once wrote, has made all the difference, especially given that the Dodgers won those games by scores of 2-1, 1-0, 2-1 and 2-1." That's pretty amazing. Kershaw is now 20-5 on the year, with a 2.27 ERA, 0.99 Whip, and 242/52 strikeouts/walks. Does he win the Cy over Halladay or Lee??

Congrats to Mariano Rivera on breaking the saves record.

from Rotoworld: "Amy K. Nelson of ESPN.com reports that Logan Morrison has filed a grievance against the Marlins in regards to his August demotion. According to Nelson, Morrison argues that he was disciplined without "just cause." The Marlins surprised many around baseball with their decision and while they argued that his demotion was performance-related, he returned to the majors as soon as he was eligible after batting just .167 (4-for-24) with one home run and five RBI at Triple-A New Orleans. It remains to be seen whether he will be vindicated, but this certainly won't help his apparent crumbling relationship with the organization. " Marlins have organizational problems with Morrison; Sox have organizational problems with Ozzie.... can the dream trade become a reality?
