    COVID-19/Coronavirus thread

It's amazing how some people can change their minds when presented with new information. You should try it sometime.

You'll be closer if you subtract about 20 years from that. They are still running on COBOL, which has been around longer than I have.

Have you lived in this country for long? Have you been sleeping through all the horrible things we have been doing to each other for the past few hundred years?

Holy shit he can't even admit that he did something that came out "negative" even when that means good. He had the best, most perfect and beautiful negative test that doctors have ever seen.

    **Movies that we Watch** Thread

I'm a sucker for nostalgia type movies. Read a quote one time that really hit me too. “At some point in your childhood, you and your friends went outside to play together for the last time and nobody knew it”

So it was a face to face meeting? Something had to have been said here.

Completely random question. Use whatever criteria you wish. Which movie do you choose? Back to the Future or Stand By Me?

Illinois "requires" it but my wife works in a gas station where they don't enforce either the employees or the customers wearing them. My daughter works at a pizza place where they were told by management that they can't turn customers away for not wearing one. I've read that death certificates do have a place for secondary cause of death. I don't know if it's standard nation wide or not.

I related it to being punished by your parents and having to stand in the corner for 10 minutes. But instead of just doing that, you keep leaving and the time keeps starting over. Then you end up in the corner for hours instead of just the initial 10 minutes.

You say your wife is a pharmacist, your daughters are studying to become surgeons and your brother is a nurse but you don't know how to tie on a mask? Seriously??? Good job not answering the questions.

Also odd that in 18 years and over 30,000 posts that he's only ever mentioned having a family one time.

He won't. For as long as he's been here, I know surprisingly little about him other than he lives in Kansas and needs a haircut. I've gone back and forth for years debating whether or not his entire posting history is just a schtick.

The best analogy I've seen of letting each state decide this on their own is that it's like having a "no peeing zone" in a swimming pool.

What exactly did the other 49 states have to respond to after Pearl Harbor? Did they all get bombs dropped on them too and nobody reported it?

    Insurance question

Not sure about the insurance part but maybe check into the cost of removing them. I just had a couple of large, mostly dead pine trees removed last year and it was cheaper than I thought it would be. A few hundred IIRC. Definitely under $1000.

    Job Thread

Pretty much any retail store or fast food joint? It's pretty much a rule that they are the busiest on the weekends. I worked a second job at Wal-Mart back in 2001 or so and it was like 2 nights a week and weekends. Usually around 20 - 25 hours a week. I did that for about 3 years and it was exhausting but gave us some much-needed help paying down some debt we had accrued.
