What's sad is that we all saw this coming.- Tim Anderson DFA'd by Marlins
I wasn't celebrating. Just point out facts to someone that never acknowledges them.- Tim Anderson DFA'd by Marlins
- Guaranteed Rate
- Saw a reference to this NY Times/Athletic article posted here last fall...but even if just 25% of what Dave Wilder asserted was true,
Also, this quote made me laugh: Yea... pretty much everyone who follows the team knew/knows that.- Saw a reference to this NY Times/Athletic article posted here last fall...but even if just 25% of what Dave Wilder asserted was true,
Before you scroll down just do a cntl-A and copy everything. Then post it into a document of some sort. It's all there.- Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
Is there some context to this that I'm missing?- No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
I see what you mean.- Understanding Jerry
Let's not forget that he hasn't actually payed rent on the ballpark in like 11 years. EDIT: Actually, he did have to pay some in 2022 because the attendance was over 1.9 million.- Understanding Jerry
Jerry is the definition of low risk high reward. Put as little money/effort into winning as possible and if every single little thing goes right,,. If every ball bounces exactly the right way... then you have 2005. On the other hand, if everything goes bad you have 2024.- No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
That's why I provided it. You're welcome.- No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
Your first claim: Your double-down after someone said it was not true:- No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
I haven't really been following this discussion overall. I just thought it was odd that you would double-down on something like that when their stats say otherwise.- No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa
Moncada is in his 9th season and Jimenez is in his 6th. Between the 2 of them they have exactly 2 seasons where one of them had a WAR over 2. Both of them were Moncada. 2019 (5.2) and 2021 (4). "Star" players have career low years of 2 WAR.- Fan since 1993
I had to double-check and make sure I didn't start this thread. In literally the exact same state of mind.- Grossman up, Jimenez over, Speas out
Did they change that? I thought it used to be essentially an unlimited amount of times you could be called up/sent down in a season.- Garrett Crochet named Opening Day starter
It only looks that way because it actually is.- Why is it okay for the White Sox to use surge or dynamic pricing but not Wendy's...?
A better comparison would've been gas stations. They've been using "dynamic pricing" for decades. I can drive by a station in the morning and it's one price and then in the afternoon it's a different price. You never really know exactly how much you are going to pay. People grumble about it but what are we supposed to do? Just not buy gas?- Sox looking at building in South Loop
You can have a good team and crappy stadium or a crappy team and a good stadium and still draw well either way. But you can't have both be crappy and expect to have good attendance.- 2024 Catch-All Thread
That's true. I remember spending literal years searching for a single song that I heard on a movie once. I had a hard time even figuring out who the artist was until I got the VHS. Turns out there was no soundtrack ever produced or released for the movie. Now I can just go to Youtube and listen to it whenever I want.- 2024 Catch-All Thread
You must have some kids raised by Gen X'rs. My daughter is often surprised when she knows about some older song that I introduced her to when she was younger and her friends/co-workers have never heard of it.- Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
Attendance actually went up league-wide in 2023 vs 2022.- Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
I don't know that I ever posted this picture here but if you could describe the Sox 2023 season in a single AB, this would be it. - Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
