  1. Also the scene from A League of Their Own that always makes me laugh. "AND HOW ABOUT MARLA HOOCH. WHAT A HITTER."
  2. What's sad is that we all saw this coming.
  3. I wasn't celebrating. Just point out facts to someone that never acknowledges them.
  4. That is absolutely false.
  5. Also, this quote made me laugh: Yea... pretty much everyone who follows the team knew/knows that.
  6. Before you scroll down just do a cntl-A and copy everything. Then post it into a document of some sort. It's all there.
  7. Is there some context to this that I'm missing?
  8. Let's not forget that he hasn't actually payed rent on the ballpark in like 11 years. EDIT: Actually, he did have to pay some in 2022 because the attendance was over 1.9 million.
  9. Jerry is the definition of low risk high reward. Put as little money/effort into winning as possible and if every single little thing goes right,,. If every ball bounces exactly the right way... then you have 2005. On the other hand, if everything goes bad you have 2024.
  10. That's why I provided it. You're welcome.
  11. Your first claim: Your double-down after someone said it was not true:
  12. I haven't really been following this discussion overall. I just thought it was odd that you would double-down on something like that when their stats say otherwise.
  13. Moncada is in his 9th season and Jimenez is in his 6th. Between the 2 of them they have exactly 2 seasons where one of them had a WAR over 2. Both of them were Moncada. 2019 (5.2) and 2021 (4). "Star" players have career low years of 2 WAR.
  14. I had to double-check and make sure I didn't start this thread. In literally the exact same state of mind.
  15. Did they change that? I thought it used to be essentially an unlimited amount of times you could be called up/sent down in a season.
  16. It only looks that way because it actually is.
  17. A better comparison would've been gas stations. They've been using "dynamic pricing" for decades. I can drive by a station in the morning and it's one price and then in the afternoon it's a different price. You never really know exactly how much you are going to pay. People grumble about it but what are we supposed to do? Just not buy gas?
  18. You can have a good team and crappy stadium or a crappy team and a good stadium and still draw well either way. But you can't have both be crappy and expect to have good attendance.
  19. That's true. I remember spending literal years searching for a single song that I heard on a movie once. I had a hard time even figuring out who the artist was until I got the VHS. Turns out there was no soundtrack ever produced or released for the movie. Now I can just go to Youtube and listen to it whenever I want.
  20. You must have some kids raised by Gen X'rs. My daughter is often surprised when she knows about some older song that I introduced her to when she was younger and her friends/co-workers have never heard of it.
  21. Attendance actually went up league-wide in 2023 vs 2022.
  22. I don't know that I ever posted this picture here but if you could describe the Sox 2023 season in a single AB, this would be it.
