Are you assuming that none of the Sox OF from the minors will be good MLB OF in 2 years?

Remove Robert, and they sent what some think is the likeliest prospect to replace him to the Rangers. Doesn't help their odds.

None of the OF prospects should be penciled into RF in two years. That's a bad plan.

Sox are at $86M today with all guaranteed contracts including Mazara and other arb guys at their estimates and 15 guys making $600k.

This counts Abreu at the $12.6M, so with the signing bonus spread amongst the three years.

Similar at Cots.  They have them at $84M, which includes Mazara and est. $8.6M for the pre-arb guys.

I still think they should have done better than Mazara but I agree with you there.

If they don’t add a couple legit starting pitching options and some relief help, this offseason will be a failure.

I agree that they need to add a starting pitcher but I'm sure we will disagree on who that is. 😁

Keuchal.

Agreed, if David Price is out of range to take on in terms of talent and money I would be fine with Keuchel.

I would also be fine with Ryu.  I don’t think Bumgarner would be the greatest fit and will likely be overpaid so he’s already out of the Sox comfort range but I wouldn’t complain.

Renteria said Mazara would be the primary right fielder. Could explore platoon opportunities at times but wants to get Mazara going against lefties as well

This fucking guy. 😂

I get not wanting to give up on any hope that he'd hit lefties, and he's certainly fared much better vs lefties than Joc but please stop talking Ricky. Thanks.

I have always felt that was about a 1% chance Bumgarner went to the AL, but we'll see. He is worth more in the NL, imo.

Ricky gonna Ricky.  It’s obvious we need a new manager.  This guy could ruin any slim chance the Sox have to win.

So it begins.  Among a litany of other problems with the FO the disconnect between what Hahn wants to build and what Rickie wants to trot out there any given day is massive.  Get on the same fucking page with your manager Rick.

Me and you will never ever see eye to eye on this or on the value of a manager. The worst strategic manager in the last 40 years of baseball has a World Series title.

Managers matter so little, and I actually think a managers job is more-so to get great effort and clubhouse culture; Ricky does a fine job there.

I just didn't think this organization was this incompetent, but it appears that I and many others were wrong.

There’s a reason Theo just let Maddon go for Ross.  He wants Ross to make the lineups based on analytics and worry about managing the in-game decisions.

If Hahn told Ricky that Mazara is a platoon player, Ricky would listen.

Personally,  I think it was Maddon didn't play the lineups theo told him to. Ross will not be making the lineups.

Lefty hitters usually struggle against lefty pitchers.  I would like a manager that acknowledges this, factors in analytics, and creates his lineup accordingly.  Instead, Ricky starts swearing when a reporter brings up analytics.
