And everyone remember how well the Dodgers started off 05, to the point that people were starting to look at the team, see guys like Depodesta and Bradley smiling because they were showing up all those sportwriters who didn't believe in the team? Pudge, Dmitri, Shelton, Carlos Guillen, Polanco, Maggs, Inge Those are all pretty darn good hitters and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else. Maggs is looking like his old self too, which will make them even better. This is the best offensive team in the AL Central and one of the best in baseball. I've said that since day 1 too and they will prove just that. If they can get Verlander to develop into a front line guy to go with Bondy as well as get Zumaya developed into what he thinks he can be, than they can use guys like Maroth, Ledezma, etc in the back of the rotation and have a good staff (in a year or two). Seriously, you could see him not being protected on a good team, but how in the hell did the Pirates (a team thats used Daryl Ward, Randal Simon and tons of other lousy first baseman) not have room to protect a guy like Shelton. Than again a lot of times it is the bad teams that can get a bit hurt in the Rule V since they typically have so many prospects (of course most of them end up failing and thats why they remain bad).
