  1. Everett is pretty solid too and I still think Scott isn’t a bad 4th option - especially if Caleb can read the field and use all of the weapons.
  2. I agree - the only way I would dangle our 2nd rounder next year is a pretty creative deal where we are moving down in the 3rd this year but getting up to top-end but it would have to be to get a player Bears think values at say 15-20 overall. I don't think there is a fit like that - Newton might be the exception but if he has med red flag, that makes the deal not that interesting. Cooper DeJean would be interesting cause I think he will be a high end safety but I don't think his grade fits Bears needs where this makes sense. Now if Bears didn't draft a wideout and instead went down and took a different position - than I could see a crop of this current grew being worth a similar move. But there are a few centers that are intriguing and I think one is there in 3rd round if that is the way the Bears want to go.
  3. I’m presuming they look at draft board and like a bunch of the guys and are just moving down and than will end up taking a few.
  4. Exactly - if Falcons were taking a qb to sit behind Cousins I would have figured they would go JJ and let him sit. He could sit 3 years and be younger than Penix now. I do think Penix is going to be 3rd best qb in draft behind Caleb and JJ.
  5. I was really hoping they took JJ cause I would have preferred Nabers. Overall though I’m a happy camper.
  6. Honestly - I'd be on board with Ozzie. If for nothing else - he would entertain me to no end during the midst of this lousy season (or few).
  7. Through April 23rd - on pace to go 21-141. Wow.
  8. For me - I think they should always be in Chicago - but easy as an outsider to say that. It makes the fact that I'll fly in every other year for a game way more enjoyable cause I can stay in the city and have a great experience with the family while catching the game.
  9. I don't recall anyone else inheriting the picks. I think of Bounty Gate, I feel like Miami had something (maybe it was related to the owner & Tom Brad - but I don't recall off top of my head), and than I presume the Patriots lost some form of draft pick related to the video stuff way back when (I don't recall if deflate gate cost anything). I still would be shocked if they lost a FRP - I would suspect a 2nd rounder would be highest they go with the Falcons - unless league wants to really SEND a message. While Vikings were clearly penalized by the tampering - to rewards Vikings is odd as reality is other teams were also penalized (say any other team that wanted Cousin's was penalized as were teams looking to trade QB's)...so I think that is where it becomes a slipper slope and I presume the penalty will be a forfeit vs. a receipt of a pick. Note: Unless league wanted to give like an extra compensation pick or something along those lines. I also can't imagine the penalty comes down fast enough that the team loses a pick literally a day before the draft.
  10. Barring a miraculous turn around he won’t make it past this year and my guess is gets axed around trade deadline.
  11. The Bears were also negatively impacted by the tampering - as if the tampering led Cousin's to go through with his opt out and ultimately sign in Atlanta that ripple effect definitely impacted Field(s) ultimate trade value. Not saying difference between 2nd and what they got - but no denying Falcons being in the market for a QB would have helped Bears significantly in their efforts to move Justin.
  12. As much as I don't like thei dea of Minny picking up the pick - the concept makes sense. Still a FRP would be a pretty massive fine so it all depends on how strong of an example the NFL wants to set. I would imagine if they go this approach its more a 2nd rounder vs. a 1st rounder. But that would be huge for Minny. Huge. They would be positioned to move up or just take the last of the QB's there and continue putting quality assets around them.
  13. I think of the inverse - it makes Smith, who is my pick for Sox to draft, look even more impressive.
