That and Benintendi missing the cutoff man cost the Sox another run. I thought they were going to be prepared. Still miss cutoff men, still can't execute a run down any better than a Little League team.
At this point, there really is no reason to want the Sox to lose unless you somehow are going to make some money on them being as godawful as possible. . The organization isn't going to be embarrassed, at least enough to make significant changes. They won't gain draft position. The 10th pick is probably already clinched. Might as well win occasionally and be a little entertaining.
I rip Pedro all the time, but taking him out there was an excellent decision. No reason risking something with even the slightest fatigue at this point.
He's not bad, and he's in a really tough spot, a rookie at this, lacking some baseball knowledge and a team's performance that hasn't made it easy. He's a little too gung ho for me at present, but I can see why he would be.
Iowa won 10 games last year with an offense that no team in NCAA division 1 history, ever won more than 4 games in a season. Obviously a great defense, but a lot of it had to do with the punter.
I just think referring to a lot of the fan base who sat through years of losing for a failed rebuild and had to sit through 101 losses last year and a 3-22 start as “haters” when they reached 5-22 now 6-22 is a bit much. I hope it’s all peaches and cream from here on out, but we all know it won’t be.
