  1. I just don't think Aaron Bummer and the almost $7 million he was owed was going to get you anything. And the Sox really had no reason to pay someone of his ilk $7 million because unless something crazy happened, they were going to buy him out. A recurring theme with all of Rick Hahn's extensions.
  2. From what I read the Sox wound up paying Grossman about $80k more than they would have had to pay someone making minimum. I agree we probably will forget the guy even exists in a month, but 80k is worth a shot, especially since Grossman was just going to collect dust as the season rolled on anyway.
  3. It's never pointless, but I do say anyone's total effectiveness would be severely diminished by JR's meddling.
  4. This guy might not work out, but signing Grossman accomplished something.
  5. To me it was worth the gamble on Soroka snapping back to being pretty good. It's Aaron Bummer who is owed some decent money. It didn't work out, but it made some sense. I would rather have Shuster than Bummer on the 2024 and 2025 White Sox.
  6. They are giving Lopez a hit if he bunts down the 3rd base line. It doesn't even have to be a good bunt, just on the ground and fair. He has no power. Why isn't he laying it down?
  7. The Sox haven't been very stellar at hitting with RISP.
  8. JRs teams are so bad, he doesn’t even want them on his own network. The Sox have to hope Connor Bedard and whoever the Blackhawks get this year keeps them in most people’s homes next season. Why would a DirectTV pay for this crap? Hardly anyone watches.
  9. This is shocking to me. I know Sosa was terrible, but what suggests Ramos, at this stage will be any better? I just read an article where scouts were saying the difference between MLB and AAA has never been bigger. This guy finally started getting it together in AA. If Sosa is that bad, DFA him, trade him for Cash Considerations or outright him, and put Remillard back on the 40. Why mess with Ramos. Let him progress.
  10. I don’t even think the White Sox would call him up. He either was pulled just to get a breather, or maybe he wasn’t feeling well, or he’s going to Charlotte. If they called someone up from there they would need another infielder.
  11. I never understood why you let a guy face someone wh has already hurt him face a guy for the 3rd time at his pitch limit. Pedro late cost them a run.
