Caleb has better things to worry about yet he spent time reporting the old Portnoy story above?

No, that's just everyone who wants to associate him as effeminate/gay/trans for doing his nails, and thereby deciding him as soft. I promise you that Caleb has heard it all, as I have already read it all. And it isn't JUST this situation. Everytime he, or his products, gets the last bit of criticism, he gets his troll army to go after whoever dares speak out against him. He IS soft. I don't see Caleb out there encouraging his people to go after Portnoy or anyone else. He has more important things to do than make his name at the expense of others.

Well, I guess this entire site and other sites like it are a sham if sports fans can’t critique players of any sport, because that’s what happens at these fan sites.

And, to add insult to injury, they couldn’t even be bothered to orient the stadium to have a view of the skyline, a view which would directly benefit the experience from the 500 level! If fans can’t go down to the main concourse’s level, at least give them a decent view! I actually like the current park, but there are so, so many aspects of it that were robbed of a silver lining. Despite what the ISFA is wishing for, reasons like these are why there is zero chance the Sox stay at Rate Field as-is.

Yes, that was the major problem with it. Chicago was one of the last cities in the US to be wired for cable and as of 1982 and 1983, the city itself was not wired though some suburbs were starting to get wired at that time. This meant that SportsVision was provided through a scrambled image on a broadcast TV station (Channel 60), which is much more expensive to launch and operate than creating a new basic cable channel. Even when SportsVision moved to basic cable after a couple of years, they kept charging for it as a premium cable service. It wasn't until a few years later that it finally became a basic cable channel. As far as the upper deck, i believe the Sox finally did away with the upper deck restriction policy within the last couple of years. Even without the draconian policy, the 100 and 500 levels really feel far apart. In other newer ballparks i've been to, you can get to the next level of seats by either one quick escalator ride or a short flight of stars. At Rate Field, I'm not sure if they even have the escalators going downward during the game, so it's a long series of ramps to get down to the 100 level.

Even before the injuries Moncada wasn't the 5 tool guy advertised imo. He was just an overhyped prospect. He was not a #1 overall 70 FW guy in hindsight. Much closer to 55. If not for the bad back he probably would have had a decent career but not a superstar at all. Solid regular type maybe an All-Star season a couple times. Vargas does a lot of things adequate to very well. He has a pretty high floor imo going forward.

To be fair, that wasn’t the full story. The kid was also shouting antisemitic comments at Portnoy. Sure, freedom of speech and all that but I don’t think that’s the same as simply calling a player soft. Portnoy didn’t go after Caleb’s race or ethnicity. Also, let’s be honest — if Jordan Love acted the same way after the same injury, Bears fans would be calling him soft in the exact same way that Caleb is getting it right now. 1) I always thought the Sportsvision/Pay TV channel flopped because the Chicagoland area was not wired for cable at the time. 2) I've always thought that the building the stadium at the present location where they did and the terrible stadium design was the biggest mistake of JRs ownership. Having 45% of the seats in the upper deck was crazy. Its simply too high up there. I'm hoping the new stadium design is much better than the present one.

It’s pretty funny every time Portnoy gets caught out like this, all you see is collages of his photos standing on his tippy toes because he is so paranoid about his height and people thinking he is short lol. It’s also pretty funny that the exact same thing happened to Gronk a while back, he was on the field pounding the ground and everyone thought he was done, but he came back after 2 games and was fine. When the injury happened, Portnoy immediately made a sad boy video with his hoodie pulled tight around his face like he was a teenage kid who had his heart broken, and he pouted for a 3 minute clip about losing Gronk
