  1. Past hour
  2. Offensively Stephenson makes a lot of sense since he doesn’t have huge splits either way and can pair with what we have currently or Teel if he comes back.
  3. We kind of need a Mason Adams at the moment. Would be strange if we traded him for a rental catcher than we need for 2 months.
  4. I would really hate trading a velocity-bumped Mason Adams for a rental catcher
  5. Again, as I've already explained I was paraphrasing somebody else. I've personally apologized to you when I felt it was warranted. This time, it's not.
  6. Maybe he can try Driveline
  7. What would be an expensive price to pay? Quero has been terrible this year and hasn’t shown any signs of breaking out of his funk. Seems like that will need to be an offseason project.
  8. Fixing Carlson’s swing is a massive question mark. Bonemer is going to be a stud hitter in the majors. Carlson may have a higher theoretical ceiling simply due to how good his defense, but the odds of him achieving it are significantly less than Caleb doing so. I also don’t think “infield defense” is a massive need when you have Roch at SS, Colson at 3B, Chase at 2B, & Vargas at 1B. That’s a damn good defensive infield.
  9. He's very White Sox coded.
  10. This is interesting to me. I know Quero has been bad but what catcher can they obtain that would/should be much better than Quero, assuming Quero hits his way out of his slump? Seems like it would be an expensive price to pay.
  11. s%*#'s getting real.
  12. Wow, that's impressively hard to achieve something that bad. That's 2.5 walks PER INNING.
  13. I didn’t rip on either the Mead or Gonzalez trades. I believe I said the Mead trade only sucks in hindsight and in case Murakami leaves via free agency. Mead would have been a nice fallback option to take over 1B, but I can see the reason he was traded before opening day. He didn’t hit at all last year once they acquired him and earn his roster spot. They also had to dump him for something since he was out of options. Jacob G was a calculated move. We’ll see if it pays off on the prospect side for the future versus what his own talent would have provided to the team. There is still some concern about the drafting and development of pitching. These guys are absolutely walking the world, and that just won’t fly in the majors.
  14. Roch signed for $10.35m. Emerson $9.75m. Lackey was $9.4975 The difference was $600k between the top two picks. It was $850k between Roch and Lackey. If they had drafted and signed Lackey for that amount, the difference between their bonuses would have almost exactly fit the Bowen kid who signed just under a million, if he had been drafted after round 10. If it had been Emerson, they could have added another $750k signing after round 10, or between $800 or $850k in rounds 8 or 9. Still worth it with some numbers to see?

I view him sort of like I viewed Gonzalez 2 months ago. I don't want to trade him because we don't know what we have. We might have hit another goldmine. the Gonzalez trade may or may not have been wise, but we had a good sense of what we were trading away when the trade was made. Carlson's a no trade for me. I can't pass on elite skills. Hagen Smith sort of is because his value is so low, we'd be taking the worst of it; and we have so few viable pitching prospects as it is, there is still time to work with him and fix. He's only been in the org for 2 years.
  16. I mean the largest lead for the Sox.
  17. You need to get better at reading the sarcasm of my second sentence in that post. 😉

Possibly mentioned elsewhere, but Oppor is back with W-S. Wonder why? The 22.9 BB/9 in the ACL doesn't seem like a reason for a return to High-A.
  19. One stop shopping with the Mets: Clay Holmes Luis Torrens (Great D, can't hit. Sox would be stuck with him for another 2 years) Huascar Brazoban Thorpe (one injured pitcher deserves another) 2 prospects in the 10-15 org range 1 unranked prospect We get 3 scurvy veterans for some 2nd/3rd tier prospects (although Thorpe was supposed to be first tier).
  20. I think Cleveland led the Sox by two games or three games at one point. Sox only need 28 more wins for a winning season.
  21. Didn't realize that. That...really bad.
  22. Hey asswipe, why did you make the comment about me not being happy if the Sox went to the playoffs multiple times yet didn't win anything? I bolded the part for you remember? You brought my name in to something and made an assumption about me. Reading is a skill.
  23. While I would trade neither Bonemer nor Carlson this July (except perhaps for Miller, if projected as a starter going forward), I would trade Bonemer first. I would not trade Carlson. I've shifted on this. Bonemer would bring more in return. He is higher ranked, closer to the majors. He should bring a ton. We already have Bergolla (who could be traded too) and Roch close to the majors. C Carlson is an elite defender. The best of the best. It would be great to have that and we need it. I think Carlson has a higher ceiling, if they can fix his swing hitch.
