  1. Past hour

  2. Tracy said that they would have used a position player to pitch the next inning.
  3. Agreed. And he would have been a good target if you don’t believe in Teel or Quero because he isn’t a free agent for 3 more seasons, but paying a prospect premium for any addition was never in Getz’s plans. It really wasn’t that bad of a thought though. Quero’s stock is so low right now we can’t even bank on him. And if you acquired Goodman, Teel could always be a 1B/DH, especially if Murakami leaves via free agency. But perhaps Goodman was never truly made available without a MASSIVE overpay. Sounds like the Yankees failed to land Goodman.
  4. I agree to some extent but in order to trade for a Hunter Goodman, you need to expend prospect capital. You don't sit on it, and that is what they did.
  5. I agree with you to some extent. The Brazoban and Bart trades were great for this playoff run and they didn’t cost anything. It sucks that Bart is already done for the season but s%*# happens. However, look at the two starters that the Cubs acquired. Both were rentals but they are both having great seasons. Meanwhile, Getz acquired a 5 ERA starter mainly because he was under control for one more year and his salary could be offset by Seranthony’s. Finally, Getz acquired a CF with a .570 OPS. These aren’t moves that a top team and competitor in baseball makes to win now. Getz made these moves because they were cheap and could fulfill half of his next offseason’s plans. Serious teams that want to win in the playoffs don’t make moves like this. The trade deadline is about acquiring the best performing rentals, not projects that have terrible stats.
  6. Historically, that has been the case, But I think we miss the point about what JR/Getz, et.al., needed to do to improve THIS team for THIS pennant run. The Sox needed/need a top of the line catcher like Hunter Goodman. They also needed a TOR starter and a lights out Closer. Unfortunately, Getz and the WSox announced that they would not be trading from from their top prospect pool, including Calab Bonemer. So they decided to stand pat and meanwhile try to create fancy dealsfor Bart and Castillo. twp players that were never going to be game changers. They hoisted the white flag,,,,again. OK The Sox saved prospect capital but they shouldn't have, not this year. This is the team and this was the season to go for it, it being however far they could go. Now 2027 season may not happen and the Sox may not be able to sign Murakami. And the core of this 2026 team might be whittled away with foolish trades, injuries, etc. They should have gone for it this season, There is nothing guaranteed about tomorrow in life or in sports.
  7. Go back and look at the thread. I graded the Sox trade deadline a C three days ago. So why don’t you guarantee what we all already know? You have no life outside of White Sox baseball. Anything else, Cali-jabroni? You’re so lame.
  8. BamaDoc posted a topic in FutureSox Board
https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/07/2026 https://www.mlb.com/milb/scores/all/all/whitesox?affiliateId=mlbcom-milb Sandlin and Carela listed
  9. Well Stinky, you have also never faced the omniscient Thanos before, so good luck…
  10. If Cali had done any research and checked my posts he'd have seen that I'm not sold on Luis. Instead he only looked at the vote on trades. Incomplete research can be worse than none at all.
  11. Venable will continue to start Romo more though
  12. Today

  13. Well, hopefully they flame out before we have to face them again (if we get that far). I was watching this game on the BoSox feed and by listening to their commentators, I could hear that they also know they're on a crazy once in a lifetime run, they mentioned that this stretch of 31-5 run is now the best in BoSox history. And their a historic team so that's nothing to sneeze at...
  14. I need to channel your positivity. I don’t even have this much hope when I’m watching my own son’s football games. You must be the greatest dad ever.
  15. Time for Sox to go on a huge run!!!
  16. I know. Murphy would have to go down too but TS cant come up for him.
  17. Yes, I watched the game. The manager doesn't have a button of "does the other team score runs - YES/NO". He did what he had to do.
  18. Really need to win 2 of 3 this weekend
  19. Let's see what he does against the Royals.
  20. Brazoban has options technically, but they won't do that, so it should be Murphy. Schweitzer threw 2 IP today though, the replacement would need to be someone else. If they want to prioritize length, Urquidy last started on Sunday and Sandlin is scheduled for tomorrow. Between one of them, Schultz, and what's left in the pen, they should be able to get through 9 and reset enough for the rest of the series.
  21. Stinky, all you need to know is that Cali thinks he’s always right about everything Sox related. He even pats his own back and gives himself a self-high-five when he thinks he predicted a transaction that the Sox actually made. And when the Sox lose in horrible fashion he gets frustrated and takes his rage out on SoxTalk posters, rather than the actual White Sox team that lost the game. This is Cali to a T. The end.
  22. Would be nice to take advantage of this stretch with minimal travel. Maybe walkoff specialist EQ with a chip on his shoulder can take advantage of a home heavy schedule too.
  23. Afraid? I didn't grade but I posted my skepticism about Luis elsewhere. Arrow pointing down. So I didn't give a grade. Boo hoo.
  24. A pitcher replacing Bart? You can only carry 13 pitchers
  25. Will say that the teams that have gone on historic runs in the season aren't able to maintain them in the postseason. A's and Guardians come to mind.
  26. Honestly, sounds like an amazing surgery for Lip. One hour to fix a torn rotator cuff. My son’s surgery took like 3 hours, but it was torn ligaments (ACL) and meniscus removal/cleanup. Rotator cuff is muscles and tendons.
