  1. Past hour

  2. No Joe Crede references? For shame.
  3. Man, you're making me nostalgic. The good old days. Back when boys could be boys.
  4. I think he means in Cleveland.
  5. It was actually very selective.
  6. A well timed Grich Bullet was so sweet. Take the series in StL and then do the same in Cleveland.
  7. Putting threads together of surveys saying this was happening in 2021, a MLB tip leading to an investigation in 2022, and now it happening at a massive and premiere event in public in front of everyone in the baseball world to see, it is obvious this was a long running pattern. If you are comfortable enough to do it this many times AND in front of a baseball whos who at an event like this, he had zero fear of consequences. That's a pattern of behavior, not a one time oops, to get to that point. You don't act like that in public initially, you work up to that over time. That means everyone knew, and everyone allowed it to happen. That's chilling, disgusting, and ultra-dissapointing. Hell it's embarrassing.
  8. Miggy's AB could've been better but that third called strike just nibbed the top part of the strike zone, that was just a pitcher's pitch. Mune's, that was atrocious. The first pitch he just watched hit the middle inside part of the plate, in May that would've ended up 420 feet into left field, today he stares at it or just whiffs on it. Mune is broken and we need him now.
  9. A lot of people in this world have gotten way too comfortable.
  10. I hope you’re right with Castillo but he’s probably toast.
  11. WTF are you even talking about, "as you thought"? They promoted most of their top 10 of a not-very-deep middle third system, and are probably bottom third now. They have the exact farm system as I thought. San Diego's 3-4 in Robbie Ray's starts because their offense isn't hitting .100 over the month of September. Mason Adams is a pitcher, and Doyle is an OF, so I'm not sure what the comparison is.
  12. Gonna screen mirror to my tv the Bears game with one cell phone and watch the Sox game on my other phone...sucks both games are on almost at the same time though.
  13. Man, how do you go to a showcase with 200 high school kids and be completely unable to hold back your bigotry??? And in a job in which your unbiased evaluation is needed? What the f*** man
  14. Being conservative I think the Sox go 7-7 the rest of the way and wind up 83-79. All bets are off if the hitting continues to flounder even though they won last night. The Guards go 7-6 and wind up 82-80. Every game and series is important but the Cleveland-Sox series is crucial and the Colorado-Sox series at the end of the season could be very fortunate for us but looking back at 1967, nothing can be taken for granted. The Guards besides us have to finish the season with 6 straight on the road at Boston and KC, both series could be really be tough for them, let’s hope so.
  15. I don’t believe the biggest challenge will be drawing fans. In fact, it will be winning games
  16. It looked like Ohio went from playing to win to playing not to lose. You just can't sit on leads like it's 1970.
  17. So I didn’t need this but he must be really sick to be missing all this time
  18. Overall good weekend for the SEC. They are looking like the deepest conference. But at the very top are a few teams in other conferences that are equal or better.
  19. Wait, I don't know that the ask for other, more controllable pitchers was cost-prohibitive, but you know of other pitchers that were available for cheaper? Let's have that list and what those teams were asking. This is all the same "We coulda had Keaschal!!!!" BS. The FO picks a direction, then you get to crow all of the paths not taken. They have Jesus Bart, now. Why didn't they clinch yet? I'd love to hear your excuse for that. No, "f@#$%^ up big time" is just another excuse from the glum excuse crowd. Waiting for a move to play out before I start screaming like a child isn't "making excuses".
  20. He's made JR 35-40% more revenue this season...so there's definitely that to consider. Outside of the literary references. (And One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest with Mike Shirley.) Better than The Bell Jar of 2023-25!!!
  21. This was the Joe Crede moment. 4 complete games in the ALCS again my god it’s happening.
  22. It was a great win but the two guys that needed good at bats in the 9th were awful. That needs to change or it will.simply be one great AB.
  23. Today

  24. Just for you @caulfield12 I even feel like fully processing this response. I believe you will be delighted in the reference. I've been waiting to use it. I’ll concede that Getz has made mistakes, but I’m thoroughly enjoying this season. After the last few years, being a White Sox fan had become positively Beckettian: endless waiting, diminishing expectations, and the nagging suspicion that the thing we were waiting for might not exist. And yet, here we are in September, playing meaningful baseball. Apparently Godot showed up. He’s just a couple of years late and has questionable roster-construction skills.
  25. Then they don't have as much of a farm system as you thought. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/32175/robbie-ray Team is 3-4 over his 7 SD starts and an EXPIRING contract and that is 100x better than being stuck with him next year. Nobody would lay their starts/appearances down next to each other and choose Castillo head to head. But we can also compare Mason Adams to Doyle, too. That's even more one sides since Adams is 1/50th the cost in a more difficult pitching environment.
