Future class intl signings still going on https://nypost.com/2026/11/02/sports/robinson-cano-jr-16-agrees-to-1-million-deal-with-marlins/

Offseason
The owners will bail. Just renew the previous deal.

Offseason
This, plus his previous history here. If he thinks they will force down the price of top free agents by crushing the top spenders and taking them out of the market, why wouldn't he wait it out?

Offseason
If the rumor that Jerry doesn’t think there will even be a season are true, why would they be?

Being homeless and mentally ill are two very connected items. People who are homeless tend to be mentally ill at a MUCH higher rate than the general population.

This is what it really is. He posted that video from inside his Aston Martin. He appears to be struggling with his mental health but I doubt he’s broke and homeless.

Offseason
Getz himself said they would be active and right out of the gate during his end of season presser.

Sox Claim INF Graham Pauley ; Outright Ky Bush and Junior Pérez
Ky Bush was always a 4A pitcher with a 5th starter ceiling.

cool, Getz is much better at the end of 40 man churn that Hahn, who held worthless guys forever.

Sox Claim INF Graham Pauley ; Outright Ky Bush and Junior Pérez
Pauley has the markings of a guy who gets claimed and DFA'd about 7 times before the season begins. Closest thing to interesting that I'll note is that he seemingly transformed as a (minor league) hitter after being traded to Miami, suddenly striking out more and hitting for less power. Might be just hitting the wall rather than any meaningful change though. He had a brief spurt of good contact hitting in AAA after his initial cup of coffee but it's been pretty stinky in the high minors for him overall. Seems like he profiles as the human manifestation of a replacement player unless the Sox believe that Miami broke something in him and he can reclaim the glory days of his time in the SD org. No idea what to think about Ky Bush. He was marginal when healthy but would have had a shot to show what he could do in '25 and '26 had he been healthy. We never got much info about why he was unable to come back in '26 other than that it was health-related. I guess he'll get the pleasure of pitching in Charlotte. There will be some more Tommy John chips to fall I think.

Pauley is out of options. I'd think the Sox are going to try to sneak him through waivers later in the offseason. Don't really see the fit of carrying a 3B on the team with Vargas and Monty on the roster, and Charlotte needs bodies.

Interesting. Stockpiling infielders.

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
I dread all this karp when there are labor issues and every one has expert insight.

The first half of that money is gone before he ever saw it between taxes and agents.- Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Man, that is sad. I hate to see it.- Offseason
Again, last time we saw this kind of set up with lockout looming over a looooooong expected lock out, teams largely sat the market out to wait for prices to be artificially forced down after the lockout changes.- Sox Claim INF Graham Pauley ; Outright Ky Bush and Junior Pérez
- Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
Hence, "hopefully". Both sides are concerned about themselves first, especially the owners. They won't care about the fans until they start losing more money than they're comfortable with losing in a labor dispute.- Offseason
If they don't that in my opinion would be a slap in the face to the fan base but again remember JR still runs things and with labor uncertainty he's not about to take any real risks until he knows the new situation. At least that's what history says. Maybe he'll surprise us?- Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
As Ken Rosenthal has written (I think I've seen others as well) the unnamed reason for the labor situation is the owners are upset the value of their franchises hasn't increased to the range of NFL and NBA franchises. They feel a salary cap and cost certainty will dramatically increase the value of their teams. It has very little to do with the competition aspect of the sport.- Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Buzelis is just so robotic on the court despite his athleticism.- Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Never liked Giddey anyways. Never thought he was a part of this teams future in anyway which showed how incompetent AK/ME was. There's a reason why OKC gave him up then went on to win a championship. Buzelis on the other hand I'm disappointed by so far because he has shown he can be a good role player. Its early but right now he's not looking like a good secondary piece to build around.- Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Not sure if he was messing around, but reports of him being mentally ill have been around for a long time- Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Giddey and Buzelis look awful. Whenever I flip to a game, Buzelis seems to turn the ball over. - Official NBA 25-26 Thread
