  1. Past hour

  2. And he's made it to the 6th inning. Woooooof
  3. Rosters are typically built with upper minors players, but you can get some A level guys sprinkled in.
  4. Boy, you sure love your teeny tiny sample sizes. Weird how 4.0 IP makes Mason Adams a viable playoff starter, but nobody gets to reference an entire season of stats from 2 years ago to argue that a pitcher has had major league success. Castillo and Urquidy also did well in one of their White Sox starts. A move works out or not over the long haul, not in one game.
  5. And he really didn't pay for it. Angels are really bad.
  6. Doyle is probably the best defensive CF on the team right now. It doesn't matter if they had someone who could stand out in CF for a game. It looks like they wanted to get an elite defensive backup. They didn't have that. Pereira nor Hays were that. And if you're referring to Pereira, he's played 37 of about 120 games. He wasn't an option.
  7. Have him on my fantasy team. Killing my K:BB
  8. Maybe but we lead the AL in RS by 20. How much more offense we need? We need and needed SP, unfortunately so did a dozen other teams and the price was high. Getz decided we weren't really a WS contender even adding a TOR starter, and is anybody thinking he's wrong? The Castillo trade looks bad right now but a long way to go for both sides in that one and at least we were able to dump Seranthony.
  9. Yea that 1.5 WHIP over 4 innings is amazing. I'm sure he'll keep putting that many guys on base a game and not suffer from it. And no, Getz doesn't always make the right decisions, but he doesn't always make the wrong ones either. You really want to believe that Getz is so incompetent he'd trade a quality starting pitching prospect for garbage. It's way more likely Adams either is nothing special, or it took more than you assume to get Doyle because Colorado and other teams besides the Sox valued him.
  10. Adams already had a nice debut for the Rockies last night. I don’t think it’s a crazy thought to think that Adams could have improved the team more for this season and going forward than a gold glove CF that can’t hit, considering this current team’s needs.
  11. I didn't notice a lot of waiver activity this year where it comes to guaranteed contracts. Maybe teams have prepared themselves, accordingly, where they're not wishing and hoping somebody claims a player to relieve them of a little payroll.
  12. Burke talked about how he hoped on a face time with him and Vargas before they came to town.
  13. 3-1, Bazzana sac fly. 2 outs, bases empty.
  14. My general feeling is that the team should've stood pat at the deadline and I would've liked to have kept Adams and Boston, but I think most of us can agree that this is not the year to go "all in" like that. Playin with house money and all. I do like that all of the acquisitions can be in the mix for next season at least. If Castillo's option is triggered for the third year, that's probably a good thing because it means he pitched well enough to reach the innings threshold. Unlikely event if there's a lockout though.
  15. So Getz always makes the right decisions on player assessments and trades? Because his trade deadline moves don’t appear to have worked out so hot thus far. Also seems to me that Adams did okay in his first major league start last night… https://www.mlb.com/rockies/news/mason-adams-callup-for-mlb-debut?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  16. Guards are throwing this from a pitching standpoint.
  17. No, the only thing that came out negative was that he didn't know a coach's name. That says as much about the Hahn era as anything about Robert imo.
  18. I never said Hays played CF. The Sox already had a CF that could hit better than Doyle even when he was slumping. Acuna also backed up CF. Doyle has a good glove but swings a wet rolled up newspaper these days.
  19. I was just going to ask this. I know people don't like him, I don't know that I have actually seen anyone say outloud that Robert was a bad teammate or a clubhouse problem. He took a lot of flak for always being hurt and all, but who actually said he wasn't a good teammate? Does that exist?
  20. Colson and him were always laughing together in the dugout.
  21. Bonemer is too good for AA already. He's doing better than he was in A+. Lowered his strikeout rate from 29% to 24% and has a 153 wRC+. Dude is just wrecking every league he plays in. Not even 21 years old either. I'd imagine the bat is MLB ready. Just doesn't make sense to bring him up at this point in the season and with the lockout. Wait and get that extra year of control.
  22. He was also chatting it up with Chase and Colson pregame last week. And he did seem to quite noticeably get along well with Colson after he came up last year, the second half good vibes of 2025 absolutely included Luis at the time. But I don't think there's been any indication that the Mets intend to waive him, so I'm not sure why this has become such a topic of conversation. Last I saw from Stearns was that they think he can still help them next season (and Robert reportedly wants to play with Soto after injuries kept them from doing so most of this season).
  23. Genao is a pretty good hitter. Guardians had 1st and 3rd two outs but luckily Hedges sucks.
