  1. Past hour
  2. one year ago, posters like @Look at Ray Ray Run were saying the Sox could have none in the top 100 this winter. Looks like a solid system that’s about to get a whole lot stronger this summer too. And there’s finally some young talent at the MLB level again as well. Could be the makings of a solid young core ready to compete once Ishbia $ infusions commence in a few years.
  3. Not unless the offense gets a whole lot better to pick up a pretty weak starting staff.
  4. MLB Pipeline update is out, pretty different from BA's in both ordering and positioning. 36. Braden Montgomery (BA #73) 40. Noah Schultz (BA #26) 71. Billy Carlson (BA #92) 73. Caleb Bonemer (BA #27) 88. Hagen Smith (BA #91) So no top 30 overalls in Pipeline but 2 in BA. No 90+ guys in Pipeline, but 3 in BA (counting McDougal, who didn't make the Pipeline list). Pipeline has Sox tied for 9th in "prospect points" (100 for rank 1, 99 for rank 2, etc.)
  5. The Getz trade acquisition that could really help is Pereira. He looks like a blueprint AAAA hitter – rakes in AAA but can’t do squat in the majors – but his major league sample size is still slight, so there is hope. The Sox gave up 2 major league pitchers for him, albeit back of the roster guys.
  6. They should be embarrassed that it took 2 weeks for anyone to realize the Sox signed Tyson Miller
  7. Today
  8. Arte Moreno had 2 HOFers on his team and couldn't win. He had players ODing on drugs supplied by personnel in the front office. JR is bad. He's not "the worst".
  9. Casuals think Jose Ramirez ended TA's career, but real ones know it was Hanser Alberto.
  10. Apparently, Davitt was getting trade interest after the World Series, so Getz protected him. Do other teams do that? Start calling other teams asking to trade for a guy on the bubble just to head fake another team into protecting someone they didn't have to?
  11. This guy is our closer. So he should be included as part of the Robert trade. Sox used the money to sign this guy. OK with the Acuna acquisition and adding two pitchers, Sox should be creeping close to .500 this season and mabe contend in this weak division. I wonder if they could land a starting pitcher even though starters only go five innings. ... The Sox have made some moves. The question is is our team a .500 club yet??
  12. https://southsideshowdown.com/former-white-sox-gm-rick-hahn-had-to-fire-himself-jerry-reinsdorf-news Jerry is the worst owner in the MLB. A monkey throwing a dart could make better decisions than him when it comes to running a successful winning team.
  13. Peoples is a nothing burger and the Sox seem to love 26 year old Davitt more than his performance has earned. He must have some great stuff.
  14. There were 2 other pieces in that deal FWIW
  15. I don’t think anyone will be that upset considering they turned a midseason signing of a mediocre starter in Houser into Mead. Like I said before, people will just wish Getz had traded Houser for younger lottery pick prospects like @GreenSox complained about immediately after the trade, rather than a post-hype prospect that a better developmental organization in the Rays was willing to give up on.
  16. Keeping up implies we were roughly equal. I think trying to CATCH up is more accurate.
  17. Unless Curtis Mead goes ham, I expect a DFA, just like the line of post-hype reclamation projects over the last few years.
  18. You left out the part when Rick had to TELL Jerry to fire him after the rebuild didn’t work, and convince Jerry he didn’t deserve another chance. But both Kenny and Rick should have been shown the door somewhere around 2014-2015, it was insane they were able to ride 2005 for that long.
  19. He fired Hahn when his rebuild didn't work. He didn't fire him when he kept trying to just run mediocre teams out there, signing middle of the road free agents.
  20. lol, yeah, because if there is one thing Jerry has shown, it’s his lack of patience and removing people who don’t get the job done 🤔
  21. You understand the analogy, you just don’t want to address the issue of giving credit to something that should be expected to have been done 15 years ago, and because Getz is simply keeping up with the rest of the competition, the White Sox deserve heaps of praise. But keep deflecting
  22. This is true. We dont know if they are changes that will work. Bit they jave made significant changes. If they dont work, he gets fired.
  23. Let's wait until they have to trade or DFA Mead. I'm sure you'll be happy with the return or result.
