  3. Cubs and Yankees both seem to be out on Tatsuya Imai Leaves SFG AZ SD A's NYM Phillies Orioles Braves
  4. Isn't that because they were concerned with his total innings jump, just like Crochet the previous year down the stretch? He went from 90 to 146...so they probably capped him at around 150. And also using LHP reliever openers against LHB dominant 1-6 hitters?
  5. Today
  6. Surprised by the relatively low rating for Braden. Too much focus on a limited number of AA at bats. Going up two full levels in one season after not appearing the summer before due to injury should be viewed as a complete positive. Schultz was the top ranked LHP prospect in baseball a year ago. Hope he does better than the likes of Rauch and Kopech with those high accolades.
  7. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/pirates-tied-kazuma-okamoto-mlb-171155977.html Pirates still looking to add Okamoto Red Sox and Jays in the mix
  8. I beg to differ on the weather of Tokyo. I hate summers there. Nagoya (Aichi) is way worse. Google Maps is your friend these days with the Japanese rail systems.
  9. The video of the social media girl trying to hit Grant Taylor is pretty good.
  10. Yeah I wouldn’t give 3 years to Bader. 2 maybe and even that might be too much. JJ Bleday could also make sense as a stopgap option.
  11. Pirates could really use a RH bat. Plop Robert between Cruz, Horowitz, O’Hearn, and Lowe and he’ll face his share of LHP’s.
  12. If those top guys are all 50 FV's, the White Sox are in a world of trouble. That would basically mean that Schultz and Smith are #4 starters.
  13. Common misconception. People think he's Irish because of the O apostrophe in his last name. Not true. He's actually one of the historically mediocre Hearns. So mediocre in fact that when people would meet them they would state "Oh, Hearn.", as if in disappointment. Eventually the family was was shortened into the contraction "O'Hearn". Hope this helps.
  14. He had a 115 wRC+ from August to October. That being said, I don’t use bWAR but assuming he must have had a lower value on his defense than Fangraphs. On the defense side, he did switch over to LF for the first time in his career and that might have caused some defensive fall-off. Ultimately to me he looks like a declining player but one with a little bit of juice left. Maybe $8M is a bit too high for what will likely be limited production, but seeing Lane Thomas get like $5.5M indicates it’s a weak OF market and guys will get a premium.
  15. Reinsdorf also got a preview of this with the Yuki Kawamura effect on Bulls posts
  16. Getz is gonna fleece some GM for a top 50 prospect. HE IS MORE MACHINE THAN MAN.
  17. In that case, I don’t have a ton of hope that Bleday will hit but he probably makes the most sense because he could move to CF once Robert is traded and Montgomery is ready to take over RF.
  18. I think he’s worth more to us a 10th man than what he’d return on the trade market.
  19. I mean he was 52nd percentile in sprint speed last year, was -.6 runs below avg on the bases according to fangraphs and on most hitting metrics is 60th percentile or higher the last three seasons. He's also 32 until late next July. It's not like he's 35 and ready to fall off an athletic cliff. The last thing the Sox need is a 32 year old FA 1B projected for 2 WAR -- but as a player O'Hearn has plenty of things going for him and the Pirates spending some money here is a good thing for their team and MLB in general.
