  2. I thought they needed two starters, no? Also, did they say they needed a CF?
  3. How often do players choose the Midwest over SD or LA?
  4. Chicago Sun-TimesWhite Sox GM Chris Getz accomplishes his goals; will that...Getz was beaming when he met the media Monday after the trade deadline. Still, he was a bit tired. “Feel like I’ve gone through a day-night doubleheader myself,” he said.”Since returning from the break, All-Star Tristan Peters has a slash line of .098/.190/.118. Getz anticipates a platoon with the left-handed-hitting Peters and the right-handed Doyle, but he’ll leave that up to manager Will Venable. However they’re used, offense still might be an issue. Doyle is slashing .214/.287/.282 with one home run in 45 games this season. He returned Friday from an oblique injury that cost him two months. His best season was in 2024, when he hit 23 homers, stole 30 bases and had an OPS+ of 102. Getz thinks the Sox can help Doyle, who’s under club control through 2029.” “We see some offensive potential that hasn’t been tapped into recently,” Getz said. “Injuries are behind him. Our projections [say] if Brent Doyle comes to the White Sox, we’re going to add wins not only in 2026 but in 2027.”
  5. Look, Seranthony had to go, and there was no easy way to off-load him and the money that remained on his Contract. I would have been fine with DFAing him. He's toast, and the M's will soon realize that.
  6. C. Every trade seemed like an overpay for dudes they have to work on to build the value they traded for. But they did what they said they would do in the way they promised. Each of the 4 trades makes them better. I hate to lose Adams, Boston Smith and Gabe Davis, but the mere fact the Sox traded them shakes me out of my stan-hood. I don't like losing Pereira.
  7. B. I think I would have liked one more starting pitcher. Bullpen is solid. Offense is completely fine as is. But we could potentially get some internal starting pitching reinforcement help later in the season so we'll see. Our guys are going to start getting gassed though from all these innings. Have to hope and pray for no major injuries. If they can pitch down the stretch like they have the last 5 games or so, if that is sustainable and not just a fluke, then this team can be real dangerous in late August into September and...wait for it...OCTOBER!!
  8. Well, if there’s a team that can afford to do it it’s the Mets. Perhaps they can get themselves a Luisangel Acuna for him…
  9. It’s funny how you just continue to make up stuff in your own mind that no one suggested. Where are the posts of people saying Getz should have thrown a bunch of prospects at acquiring Adley Rutschman or even Tyler Stephenson?
  10. Tomorrow the time for second guessing will end and it will be time to go to battle. Red Sox series is gonna be a b1tch.
  11. Gave them a D. Boston Smith hurt a little. I would have said B if Castillo was pitching like he normally does.
  12. The fact that Getz doesn't think more people need to be replaced should actually be a positive in the clubhouse.
  13. They're going to pick up that last option and try to trade him in spring training next year, aren't they?
  14. SoxTalk: this team lost 100some games, no way they could hope to be .500 in 2026! Also SoxTalk: this team is miraculously kind of good somehow and nobody saw it coming, why don't we throw out all the work done over the last 3 years for a .700 OPS catcher we need for about a month!
  15. The Rat Pack version or the Clooney/Pitt version?
  16. He is day to day with an leg infection , should be ok
  17. Wolkow has way too much upside to include him in a trade at this point. He's young, he keeps himself fit, and he works hard.
  18. Boston gave up a sh1t ton of prospects to get Rutsch who is maybe about as good as Teel but no better. Kyle could be awesome if he could just stay on the field..
  19. C for the same reason. Could have potentially been an A or B if they used the Doyle trade package or comparable for a rental starter rather than a CF that can’t hit a lick. Having to DFA Pereira is the poop on the poopsicle of this series of deadline trades.
  20. Hopefully. I just looked at his strikeouts over the years and lost even more hope. Yikes…
