With a magic number of two, that should get you in right? The standings would be Texas 82-80 Astros 81-81 White Sox 81-81 Sox miss the playoffs despite 2 losses from the competition. Magic number is 3 right now but yes 3 games can be gained in 1 night with a win.

I don't know. I do think Cleveland has the best chance simply because they have the type of pitching you need to succeed in the playoffs plus they have experience. I honestly would give us the lowest chances no matter what seed we get but it will still be fun to experience more playoff baseball

It's still technically 3. There is one specific scenario where it is three, but I laid that out above. Yes, a sox win alone would lower the number by 2. That's the fun with tiebreakers. But if the Sox dont win again, the tiebreaker isnt guaranteed.

Okay correcting myself here. I believe the overall magic number is 3. Sox win is worth 2 however. White Sox could lose out. 81-81. Rangers go 5-0 or 4-1, win the division outright. Astros go 3-2, finish 81-81 and win the wild card. So 2 doesnt officially get you there.
