  2. https://www.mlb.com/news/assessing-teams-odds-of-winning-world-series-2026 MLB expects CLE but believes more in the Sox if they can somehow make it to the postseason...
  3. That's how I feel... today for example it's yet another 'bullpen game' because the starting pitching is crap and Castillo is going to be used as part of it. If ever they needed to beat the odds and get a win, today would be the day.
  4. You're not from around here...
  5. The sickening part of it is that I just expect them to lose every day now, not unlike that 120 loss team. Really all they had to do in September was to not be awful and that is proving to be a difficulty.
  6. Job creators!!! For the luxury yacht and private manufacturers...which may or may not be great for the environment.
  7. We don’t pick apart every Venable decision, only the bad ones. There are plenty, so it keeps us busy on the keyboard. 😂
  8. Agree, but change that thinking to hoping.
  9. Jump and make some room!
  10. If the thread title were right, then I guess Terrence Stamp would be correct after all.
  11. I'll second this. I'm not sure why we're throwing her under the bus now that the Sox are in freefall. She's provided some good posts here over the course of the season. Not that this is the only criteria, but I don't see her picking fights with other posters, incessantly arguing about the same topics, engaging in "told ya so!", or anything like that. I really can't say that about some others on this site.
  12. It would help if Wil would play our best players. I am all for mixing up the line-ups when strugling, but we need to play the guys that got us there in the first place.
  13. Too keep my sanity I’m looking at it as they improved immensely from a team that won 61 games last year and are still in a rebuilding stage but if Getz can get JR to spend some money they can be true contenders in 2027. I wanted this team to make the postseason but knew deep in my heart that this was not a playoff team and the only reason we still have a shot at the playoffs is because the American League is a joke this year with only 3 good teams and all of them in the Eastern Division.
  14. It would be lovely to clinch the playoffs at home next weekend against Detroit. Still very possible.
  15. Today

  16. Surprised nobody has brought this up but, even though this is a different sport, it reminds me of the Bears quite literally backing into the final wild card spot in 2020.
  17. They have a 3 game lead over their next closest competitors for that 3rd wild card spot. But I think the path to a deep playoff run rests on homefield advantage of some kind. Let's see. Some of this is just bad luck/variance. Hope it evens out in the end.
  18. While watching these games i'm reminded of Murphy's law ~ "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". while it sounds pessimistic, it often serves as a reminder to anticipate failures, faulty planning and design, and problematic backup plans . I more than others wish them to succeed . i'm running out of time here.
  19. Everything points to a weak farm system
  20. If they blow this and miss the playoffs, this season will have been the opposite of great. I'd rather have my mind wiped and forget it ever happened.
  21. Thank you, HS. Too damn many Deb Downers around here!
  22. I'm not smiling. I hate being right.
  23. Is this how this team is going to let this play out? They have 15 games left to show who they are. All the good vibes of the season could go right down the drain if they blow this and miss the playoffs. They will just be remembered as a team that choked away the Division and the playoffs the last month of the season.
