  1. Past hour

  2. Colson had 11 HRs across 96 games in A-AA as a 20 year old (mostly in A and A+). Bonemer had 37 homeruns in 132 games across A+-AA. He's hitting for WAY more power. .154 ISO vs a .300 ISO.
  3. In 2006 I thought the Sox made all the right moves to repeat by trading for Jim Thome & Javier Vazquez.
  4. You could argue they rushed Braden and we saw the results of that.
  5. Guess who had a 23.5% K rate in his time at AA as a 20/21 year old?
  6. Don't be hating. He was only 20 years old in AA. 25% SO rate isn't that bad with his power.
  7. Apparently today is also the 5th anniversary of Jerry bringing back TLR.
  8. What do those players have to do with the current sox front office?
  9. The crazy thing with union support, and a lot of potentially high paying jobs out there in these projects, I am surprised they aren't feeling more heat.
  10. Yeah...agree with this...like it or not...Ishbia is leaving 35th & Shields! He is not going to create an entertainment center in that neighborhood. Alderman Lee ought to be out there promoting a vision of what she sees/hopes for this neighborhood. All she is doing now is yelling "no" which is not leadership (and might not work anyway)!
  11. I used to think this, but seeing what the similar teams who did spend and build franchise value are worth these days, it is very clear to me that Jerry literally left billions on the table with his cheap ways in the overall franchise value. This could easily be a 4 to 5 billion franchise if he had invested hard into it. He didn't, and it is worth about half of that.
  12. Not saying he won't be a great hitter, but he has all of the hallmarks of a dude that sees the extremes at the major league level with his boom and bust homer and K rates. We love him now, but I am sure he will be hated for periods of time soon enough.
  13. In 7 AFL games Bonemer has 3 doubles, 1 triple and 1 homerun.
  14. Carson Fulmer, Gordon Beckham, Oscar Colas. . . Just a couple more that come to mind.
  15. Today

  16. Why doesn't every player on the team have a 2-strike approach instead of swing from their heels?
  17. Just thinking about some of the base clogging Sox teams in the past that would take 3 hits to get a runner home from 1st base.
  18. He’s more greedy than stupid
  19. Ha, I even said I bet they tried to get Castillo on the IL earlier because there was no way they didn't want to replace him down the stretch. Of course he refused.
  20. Here's what I actually wonder. I understand that in modern runs expected parlance, the Sox are going the "right" thing by playing for the big inning in swinging for the fences constantly. But also hearing that Murakami had a 45% whiff rate against 96 plus fastball, and Colson had 48%, it gets me thinking about what actually goes into that number, along with average and median expectations. Keep in mind an "expected" total is an average. All of those zero run innings are picked up by the outlier 10 run inning that is generated once in a blue moon when everything works. Think of it this way. If my distribution looks like 0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/10, versus 0/1/0/1/2/0/3/0/1/0, my expected run total is better in the first scenario, but I am giving myself a better chance to win more games in the last scenario. Obviously that is very skewed on purpose, but you kind of get the point. I do wonder about distribution of runs, and how we might revisit this as something more of a "selective" aggression versus all gas and no breaks.
  21. They aren't going to add two more starters unless they are Fedde/Kay/Foster Griffin specials... Soroka might even be out of their realistic range with Castillo added and Newcomb/Fedde going up in cost.
  22. This year's success is all the reason for Jerry to not spend money. He probably thinks you can have this success with this low of a payroll every year.
  23. I think AJ nailed it, and it’s not a surprise. I’m more surprised that some people seem to think Jerry is going to allow Getz to go on a spending spree, lockout or no lockout.
  24. Yeah, Not sure what year he’s living in. We got a Boner Homer today. He and Shelton both went deep. If Shelton could get more consistency he could be a guy too.
