I havent posted here much this year, but im irate at how the deadline has gone down. Besides the already talked about bigger trades that went down in August, I am so dumbfounded at how we didnt get some sort of insurance for Braden’s woes against LHP. Before the deadline, Braden’s wRC+ against lefties was 51 in 47 PAs. After the deadline and to today his wRC+ is 7. Cleveland’s GM plugged in Adell to help with their hitting vs lefties in Jo Adell: 223 wRC+ Hell we RELEASED Austin Hays on August 7th. With the Padres hes put up a 192 wRC+. Looking back, a platoon for Braden was an obvious necessity. At least get some insurance for him. Just mind boggling to me how they keep trotting him out there at this point against lefties.

September 17, 2007 - The Sox tied the club record for the most runs ever scored in the fifth inning of a game when they sent 11 guys home at Kansas City. Very easy to say but very difficult to do given all of the shortcoming you just listed AND let's not overlook the fact that for a bunch of these guys this is the first time in a pressure situation with a lot on the line. To me mentally and physically these guys look like very, VERY little is left in the tank. That's why it was so important to get help at the trade deadline. Instead the organization got dogshit players.

Absolutely. Some were saying how long the odds were of the Sox pissing everything down the toilet. Looks like said odds aren't so long now are they? They could easily finish with a losing record after being nine games over on August 29. That would be pretty incredible.

Yeah Houston being the 2nd in wild card definitely changes things since we don't own the tiebreaker on them. Edit: Astros own the tiebreaker over the Rangers, so they still lead the West even with a loss today and a Rangers win.
