  2. People continue ignoring this and simply overreact to streaks. The offense is going through a power outage, once that changes so will the optimism around this team. Personally, I have been very happy with the pitching as of late. The bullpen is really coming together and Martin looks like a solid #3 SP even if his ace like run in the 1H was unstainable. This team is legit and is a few moves away from being serious contenders. We need to buy buy buy.
  3. I assume it’s including recent draftees. The back end of our top 10 excluding them should all be in play for upgrades.
  4. We were 4th place in baseball in HRs prior to the All Star game with 129. We are dead last since the All Star with just two HRs. That trend ends today and we are officially moving out of the cellar. I am predicting a whopping four bombs for us. Murakami, the Montgomery brothers, & Benintendi. Those four guys are all going deep today…book it. If I’m wrong, @ron883 has agreed to a self ban that will stay in place until this exact outcome is achieved. We thank you for your courage and potential sacrifice.
  5. Assuming the Top 10 doesn't include the draft guys, it's one thing to not trade Bonemer or Carlson, it's another to hold onto Lodise or Mogollon.
  6. The trades will likely be in the works or done before the Yankees and Rays series is complete. For people who still aren't believers, we are the only team in baseball to avoid a four game losing streak. That suggests longevity.
  7. Alejandro Kirk is owed 12.3M the next 4 years, would Toronto or the Sox be interested ?
  8. Was looking at past trades and looked up Truman Pauley. Wow that guy is wild. Makes hagen Smith look like he has command. 76 innings 66 hits and 88 Ks, but 55 walks. If they could ever fix him he seems to have good stuff. Just can't find the plate. 6.5 walks per 9 innings. Been starting all year and it's 1-9 at Kanny.
  9. He gone and Teel could possibly be back, crazy
  10. Good opening stance. And glad to see we are flashing our financial strength, which should give us an advantage. There will be teams who will struggle to take on payroll and others who will need to navigate luxury tax concerns.
  11. For rentals, that is 100% the right stance.
  12. I wouldn't trade for any rentals unless it's an incredibly low cost. Completely fine with them landing a big fish with two or more years of control, just don't want to see Caleb traded.
  13. Definitely don’t do any research and instead suggest panic trading your only two good SPs who happen to be controllable. And even worse, we have an entire positional core in place and you want to waste that by nuking our pitching staff. Make it make sense people.
  14. Two bad games and Parkman has arisen from the dead. And they want to white flag it while we sit 1.5 games up in 1st place admist the weakest AL in years. I am actually embarrassed to be a Sox fan with all these Panicans.
  15. Today

  16. Any update on the PTBNL’s in this trade? I believe we were supposed to get two of them. @Y2Jimmy0 - Have you heard anything on this?

  18. Fair enough. I still think they need to be thinking long term when making deadline trades as this franchise is only just coming out of a wreckage of the last few seasons. Lots of difficult decisions for Getz to make in the coming days.
  19. Mead plays 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, I will take what we have at those positions. I guess he could have been the UT or R/ DH. Mead wasn't going to get the playing time here and his departure has led to very positive things. The Sox didn't have an established a LF, CF, or RF in the preseason. Sam was given a chance to learn on the fly in LF because Benny was a defensive liability. Peters in CF made the All-Star team, and Montgomery is finally the answer to a long-time hole in RF. Benny getting moved to DH and now sharing the role with Grick has been working. Grick can also play the outfield.
  20. July 26, 1942 – 17-year-old Chuck Comiskey was being groomed to take over the team. I always think of both Chuck Comiskey and Muggsy Halas and what could have been if they stuck around.
  21. Would remind people that it didn't stop the Cubs for trading for Nick Madrigal.

Sure they can. It's minor league baseball.
